Retarded. You do realize promotions arent as straightforward as you appear to think they are? That a lot of times "promotions" like the one above that require you to work else where end up causing you to lose money by traveling farther every day and that's not even considering if you have to move there like a lot of people do. If you take any job anywhere and go somewhere you do not want to live just for a few extra dollars or a more prestigious title then you are going to be miserable for the rest of your life.

Thank you, she would have to drive a hr one way. Plus no way in hell would we live in Cootville. Even if we did move I would have to drive it. So the 20k more a yr is really not worth it

promotion and turned it down strictly because it was in Columbia. It was him trying to take a shot at Columbia.
Which would be a dumb reason to turn down a good promotion.

Do you think if it was a life changing job she would turn it down. We don't need that extra money for the hassle. If it was the beach also a hr away she would have took it. But no way in Columbia.

I think we have about 10 yrs to work and I will be still middle aged and retired. We have been thinking about buying some land in the upstate. Then my job will be Clemson sports. I will go to everything playing all year round.

Hey position in greenville was dissolved and she was offered a significant promotion to regional manager if she moved to Charlotte, Orlando, or. . Some other big city somewhere else. .I can't remember the third.
I told her to find another job.
Mone doesn't dominate everyone.

At least 35k more a year. Gamecocks aside, Columbia really isn't geographically appealing.

there are two things appealing about Columbia
Jan 27, 2015, 10:45 AM
|
|
1. No Yankee tourists - ever. 2. it's a 2 hour drive from a bunch of places (beach, mountains, Clemson, Charleston, Augusta/the Masters, Charlotte). So you can get away to much nicer places in a multitude of directions.
If you can find some land way out of town (Lexington/Calhoun County), and have a CWP for trips into town, it's bearable.
