WCCP

Aug 27, 2013, 8:03 AM

Living in Charlotte, I rarely get to hear local radio (local to Clemson). So I discovered the tunein radio app. Yesterday I listened to Walt and it was all scar and UGA. This morning I turn it on and they are talking Mets. Go to Mile and Mike and Danny Kannel is talking Clemson/UGA.

I doubt ill even try WCCP again. Clemson flagship, riiiiiiggggggghhhhhttttt!

They treat Clemson like an after thought at times....

I think they try to be too national sometimes, and miss the point that they're a Clemson station. Annoying!

just goes along with whatever toola says because he is his boy. The dude is as irrational as gamecock will, as a matter of fact I believe it is his brother. The station is a joke!

My take on WCCP

As a traveling salesman, I've listened to every show on their current lineup. I like the fact that we have a local station and some of the morning shows are good and enjoyable. However, we need a regional or national program to break up the monotony. I love Clemson athletics, but there are only so many topics day-to-day and it gets boring (especially when the same ten people call into every show). I miss Packman in the afternoons because it was a regional show, they had a group of guys talking on it and it was entertaining. I know some people on here don't like Packer, and that's okay. There are plenty of other regional shows that can bring a different perspective. Walt's a nice guy, but his voice is terrible, he has too many verbal tics (like repeating every callers name 3-4 times), and he laughs at his own jokes too much. It's a relief when I turn on the radio and hear Tim Brando or someone else on there because I know I'll at least hear some different callers and stories.

You know I hear Clemson and USC people alike bashing Packman. I found it interesting listening due to a group of guys talking about different topics. Never stagnant due to new topics. They focused on UNC and ACC a bunch due to Charlotte being the HQ and lots of the guys from NC ST, UNC etc but I heard enough to enjoy whatever they were talking about

Never got why people hated him

I listen and I think Roy is about the only show worth listening to. I used to not like him but I have to give him credit. He is prepared and knows his stuff.

Mickey- boring. Not prepared. Reads off of the ESPN website for topics.

Walt- annoying. Loud mouth. Know-it-all.

I agree. Would love to have a national to break things up. I can only listen to Lou, Delvin, Paul, etc so many times per day.
