It won’t get a lot of fanfare, but this is a really solid EKU team. They won’t be an easy out for many people.
I like how our team is coming together. We have veterans in Chase and Ian, budding stars like Wiggins, and experienced transfers such as Zackery and Lakhin. This is a nice mix of talent and veteran leadership. We can be really good.

Hasn't been mentioned much but I think before the season ends, you'll hear Myles Foster's name mentioned. He's solid, big body that has a nose for the ball. Quick hands and anticipates passing lanes well. If he can improve his ft shooting, he may earn more minutes. Don't think we'll need him to score. But he can come off the bench and guve cheff and others a breather. Especially valuable on defense.
He's my sleeper player of the season.

First full game I've watched this season. First two were condensed YouTube versions.
Observations:
Not on the same level as last year's team (yet)
Team gives five guys considerable minutes that weren't on the team last year, two of which that start. Although expected, the cohesiveness is lacking but not painfully obvious.
Team will miss PJ Hall.
While there were criticisms about how much Hall played outside last year, the team's interior presence won't be the same. Lahkin is a welcome and appreciated addition but he plays below the rim and it's hard to follow up an act such as Hall.
Impressed with Del Jones.
You can just tell he's the future. One thing I noticed is that Brownell let him play through some mistake prone and bad shot minutes. Most years, Brownell is quick to yank younger players but I think Coach knows and has confidence in this guy. Granted, he got more minutes with Dillon out but still, this guy has plenty of positive attributes.
👨🍳 is as likable as ever. Such of an overachiever. You can tell he means so much to this team. Whe he went down in the first half, the entire bench cleared out of concern.
Heidbreder will gradually steal minutes and work his way into the rotation. His shooting ability is too much to ignore and he has some ability to create off the dribble.
Finally, Chase Hunter. This is his year. His team.
I've always felt the main thing missing from his game was confidence. Last year's NCAA Tournament run gave him that for this year. There's going to be plenty of highlights. I hope we all enjoy it. His athleticism should especially be appreciated.

I see your point. It's going to take awhile for this team to jell fully. But the fact they trailed halfway through the 2nd half and responded fully and took over late against a team that would upset teams who couldn't respond is a positive.

I really like this team. The three guard look is nice and I would like to see Wiggins post up a little more when we pay big. I think Myles could be a factor once he finds his niche. Hope you are good and we al really enjoy your insight.

Lahkin and Chef look to be picking up right where Chef and Hall left off.
Lahkin's a grinder. Looked like he'd gone 15 rounds with Foreman at the end of the game.
I think Brownell reloaded in the right spots this year.
Gotta good feeling about this team.

I thought Wiggins didn't play well at all. Too many turnovers and missed shots. Not sure what isn't clicking with that guy....it seems that he's close but....
I was also impressed with Del Jones.
FT shooting wasn't good. That has to get better.

I believe both will improve.
Wiggins isn’t going to shoot that poorly again.
Brownell teams typically shoot free throws well. I know they work on them a lot. They’ll get better.

This will be a top ACC team I don’t doubt it.
But I still see us having some games where we just don’t look right. I guess one or two cold stretches. Almost like usual.
But, I see this team having a lot of wins, and if that indeed happens, that means they will multiple quad-1 wins.
Clemson plays 3 blue bloods at home this year. UNC and Duke come back to back. I pray that we are playing hot at that point.
Lots of promise
And EKU has some studs obviously. Look for them in February, they might be in the discussion.

After going down by 4 and seeing that switch turn on I'm impressed. That was a big moment in the season imo. They were a solid team and hung around for a while. We could have gotten tight and crumbled but we finished strong. These young men are still growing and learning how to play together.

Unfortunately I have never seen you start a thread like this for a Football/Dabo win. App St would have been a good one after a loss to #1 team UGA and App St is always conference contenders.
Glad you love the bball team and they do look like CBB could have put together a decent group. I hope we have a banner year!
But if Dabo wins out rest of season, I want you to start a thread praising Dabo's success doing it his way. As we all know, CBB is not a great recruiter at HS level but the NIL and Portal is the best thing that could have happened for CBB's career.

But since you brought it up, I was very complimentary of our football team after the App State game and that continued until we crapped the bed against Louisville.
Also, I would have more to get excited about if our football team fully utilized all available options to improve, including NIL and the transfer portal. They don’t, so it leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth when we underachieve (again).
