Murcielago you got much knowledge about these guys? Now that mom is embracing her widow life, she wants a convertible again (sold her solara a while back). I liked the idea of an older boxster like yours, but she's also not mechanically inclined by any stretch, including taking it to the mechanic. Then I remembered the MR2. A) Toyota, B) Still cool AF.

Prolly not as nimble as a Miata but dead reliable and still looks great at however many years old it is. Garage kept of course.

Doesn't have much power and the gearing is very short, so it's not great at highway speeds. Otherwise they're fun, reliable convertibles. She could probably drive it for five years and sell it for what she paid.

It may seem counterintuitive, but I'd look for one with more miles on it.
