My Campaign Platform for ACC Commissioner. Thumbs up to vote for me over Swofford
Jump the bottom and then come back for explanation
#1 - Lure Notre Dame and Penn State or Rutgers to the Conference with this plan (See #5)
#2 - A 16 team conference with 2 Regions of 8 teams and 4 divisions of 4 teams–Based on Region and Competitive Program History for Football and Basketball.Creating Regional rivals. This is what the SEC Knows that the ACC doesn’t. Regional rivals make great Television and excited fan bases to invest in the programs.
#3 – 8 game Conference Schedule 3- Division Games 1 -Regional Cross Over 1 – Inter-region Division Cross Over 3 – 1 game each of non Division rotating Yearly after home and away.
#4 – Region Champs would be determined by the best overall conference record and would compete for the (Heisman/Warner Trophy) in the ACC Championship Game. (South Region Champs would win the Howard/Dodd Trophy) (North Region Champs would win the Rockne/Paterno trophy). Each team will play 5 of the seven other teams in its region every year.
#5 – Goals of this Expansion model 1. Create 3 distinct tiers for conference marketability a. Top Tier National Games with dominant programs and fan bases b. Second Tier Popular regional Games with Historic Programs c. Third Tier local Games among traditional rivals
2. Preserve traditional rivalries 3. Preserve flexibility for schools to schedule valuable non conference games. 4. Create a cash cow of 28 million dollars per school in TV Revenue by having both the best college football and basketball brands in the most populace regions of the country.

I mean...its a good idea and all, I just think that your specific plan is too complicated. There's too much set in stone with your 4 regions. With the way you have your schedule set up, we would hardly ever play certain teams in the conference.
I don't want Notre Dame, Rutgers, or Penn State in my conference. I'm all about tradition. I don't want to see us play teams that we have no history with (although I guess I'm gonna have to suck it up for when we play Syracuse and Pitt in years to come.)
My guess is this- the SEC wants to have complete control of southeastern football. For that reason, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Clemson and FSU join the SEC within the next 5 years. Forget the ACC.

I see your point. and i see the desire to go to the sec as a a main reason to not like the plan.
However. if the ACC is all we have to work with and i was going to give the simple version.
Adding Notre Dame and Penn State makes football not suck
you play the same Five teams every year and one each from the other division.
Clemson gets to play FSU, GT, NC State, Wake, VT, South Carolina and one other UGA or auburn every year.
Plus Miami and UNC twice every six Years (same as right now.
Plus Notre Dame and Penn State twice every 8 years.
how much more southern football plus good out of region games can you want? (without being in the SEC.) with this plan we play more southern football that we will at 14 teams.

I would like that a lot.
I'm curious if they ever go to 16 how they would handle the non permanent rotation. In you example, there would be 10 non permanenet teams to rotate in 3 spots per year. I'm not sure what you were proposing but maybe they could change it up to play the 10 teams either home or away in a full rotation and then switch in the next rotation... So if we had Miami at home in the 1st year and then we would be at Miami 3/4 years later

I was thinking the Home and Home would rotate like

the current system. But be among the three divisions. since one of the 4 divisions doesn't have a permanent cross over it would take 8 years to play a full round robin with a home and home. using Clemson as an example
2013-14 Penn State 2015-16 Pitt 2017-18 Cuse 2019-20 BC
The Divisions with permanent Cross overs would take six years to rotate through. Again using Clemson as an example
2013-14 Miami 2015-16 Duke 2017-18 UNC
2013-14 Maryland 2015-16 Notre Dame 2017-18 Virgina
I like your idea though. you could just play straight through all the teams and then straight through again on opposite fields.

it'll never happen. I just think the odds of ND coming into the ACC are zero given Swofford's stance on revenue sharing. But TU anyway.

1.the BC and ND series is rather young and has breaks taken in it every so often. For example, they will not play a game in 2013,14, or 17. in this scenario they would play twice every six years. However the problem could be easily remedied changing crossovers or switching BC and Maryland.
2. your right it does sound better, although not technically wrong. i think ill change it. lol
