Must be a lot of hand-wringing at UCONN/Louisville

Nov 20, 2012, 10:57 AM

Think we have it bad? Think about the angst at those schools. Most likely, the athletic fortunes for the next generation at those two schools is being decided by the ACC. Not only will the loser not get in the ACC, but the other one getting in will be the death blow to the Big East.

Although I suppose Louisville still has a shot at the Big 12 down the road if not picked.

Not as much as at CU & FSU or Greensboro.

While Louisville lacks on the academic side, you know FSU & CU are pushing for a football school to replace UMD. Didn't FSU extract a promise that the next schools after Cuse and Pitt would be a football school ? Not bringing one in could cause them to leave.

Before anyone complains about WV last year, Louisville is still a better pick than WV was.

You have the Dookies and the Cheaties lobbying for UCONN, while an improvement over UMD, they still wouldn't bring the football kick that Louisville would.

Clemson and FSU will be fine

we're in a conference that's looking to expand and isn't currently shedding teams like the B12 was or the Big East is. Plus, both Clemson and FSU are revenue generators, and will be attractive to other conferences if it becomes necessary to leave the ACC (it isn't). On the other hand, schools like UofL and UConn need to be a in one of the bigger conferences if they want to be relevant. So if the ACC doesn't invite them, they're in trouble.

picked, because i'm sure they would go big 12 eventually.

thats actually probably true. Is there any reason the B12

has not added BYU in the past? I think they could get to a pretty #### good 14 with BYU, Boise, Loui, and Cincy. And it takes WV off the proverbial "island".

the B12 is in no better shape***
