LeBron would have excelled in the 80s/90s era of ball. The dude came into the league 6-8/250 with point guard ball handling and passing skills. As a prospect he was basically a stronger and more athletic version of Magic Johnson.

Lol, you could just say you don't actually understand how much of a genetic freak specimen LeBron is. I get it, you dislike him and probably haven't watched NBA ball in 20+ years, but LeBron's physical capabilities are probably unmatched in NBA history. Laimbeer and Mahorn would have stood no chance at staying in front of him. Rodman was giving up at least 40 (probably closer to 60) pounds in his Pistons days. And zone or mixed zone defenses were completely outlawed in the NBA until the early 2000s. LeBron would have feasted in that era. His first 4/5 seasons were played in the statistically most challenging era to score inside in NBA history and he averaged 27/7/6.5. No one, Bad Boy Pistons included, would have been capable of holding him to 10 a game.

He’d flop every play.. and complain about every non call (which would be a lot in that era) on the offensive end of the floor and forget his team needed 5 on defense… not sure how effective he could be in that scenario, even though as you stated he is an athletic freak.

He'd be conditioned to the way the game was called then. Again, he was an exceptional interior scorer in the statistically most challenging era to play in the paint. And for good measure toss in that his passing would eviscerate teams. He would have excelled in that era.

And implying he's not capable on defense? Prime LeBron was an exceptional defender. Only 13 players since the 1968-69 season have more first team all-defense selections.

From the perspective of the women in the league, I think that they feel as if, despite their hard work, they’re only getting attention from this new girl who everyone is obsessed with. It also doesn’t help that she’s white (they think that’s why she is more popular). I disagree with their sentiments, and definitely with their actions, but that’s at least what I think it is

It really is as simple as this. Sad but true, success scares some people and they out act like a petulant child around it.

You have a women's basketball league that loses tons of money year in/year out...now CC comes along and blows up with her Steph Curry like style, and becomes immensely popular. That success is somehow bringing negative attitudes from players in the league that feel they are as good and talented. While this may or may not be true, they are simply jealous of the success and attention she receives.

The league "should" be thankful, but competition breeds contempt if it is in the heart. And there is a lot of unsportmanslike cheap-shots at her expense. She is a trash talker, so she has some of it coming because if you run that mouth you are going to get tested.

At some point this will all settle down, but the league is loving the attention and money coming in for the time being. I have no interest in wimmens bball, but others might and this should help the league continue on for a while.

when the others you mentioned entered the league. Things remained pretty much status quo (i.e., poor ticket sales, attendance, and TV viewership).

However, with Catlin Clark's arrival on the scene, there has been a significant renewed interest in the league that has also resulted in an increase in TV viewership, ticket sales, and attendance. I wont even get into the shoe deals, endorsements, and media attention. The existing players are now envious because none of this was occurring on their watch and some have even gone so far to say this is largely because Caitlyn Clark is white. It couldn't possibly be because she is a great player and a solid role model with a high level of character and integrity. In other words, the exact type of person, regardless of race, who league executives would want to be the face of the league.

I don’t think her race (and size and style - much like Steph, another popular player) has hurt her in bringing all these new eyeballs into women’s college basketball and now the WNBA that’s for sure. Being attractive helps too, as it does with ALL gender famous people.

2) Clark should begin martial arts training in the off season.
3) Similar to Charles Oakley and Rick Mahorn protecting Michael Jordan, and goons protecting Wayne Gretzky, Clark's team needs at least two goons to protect her.
4) If fans do not like the jealousy & racism exhibited to Clark, particularly among the most strident players, the solution is to cut off the TV and do not go to the WNBA games. Problem solved.
