Could be a very sobering year for CBV at OU

Aug 25, 2022, 4:31 PM

This video shows why some feel OU is the most overrated team in CFB going into the 2022 season. I have to agree.

Losing Lincoln Riley, Caleb Williams, 8 starters on defense will gut a team that was very lucky to be 6-1 in games decided by 7 points or less last year.

They are primed for a finish outside the top 25, much less the top 10. Maybe the sorry state of the Big 12 can save them from a hard fall.

Rattler bailed because of Williams,

then Williams followed Riley. Do they have a QB ?

and now Rattler is playing for a perennial doormat...

because he's afraid of competition.

I don’t know but feel Rattler regrets that decision after Williams left.

Of course he does...

He went from a team that has a realistic chance to win a conference championship, possibly making the CFP or a New Years Six bowl game, to a team that will struggle to win five games and get invited to some meaningless bowl game in Birmingham or Shreveport.

Not so fast my friend. The Big12 is not super strong and their "big" out of conference is Nebraska who they can beat.

They should be pretty good. Don't think they can go

Aug 25, 2022, 6:45 PM

11-1 though. Even 10-2 seems really tough with so many unknowns.

If I had to guess, I'd say they go 9-3 for the regular season, with losses to Texas, Baylor & OK State.

W - Sep 3 vs UTEP
W - Sep 10 vs Kent State
W - Sep 17 at Nebraska
W - Sep 24 vs. Kansas State
W - Oct 1 at TCU
L - Oct 8 vs Texas *
W - Oct 15 vs Kansas
W - Oct 29 at Iowa State
L - Nov 5 vs (10) Baylor
W - Nov 12 at West Virginia
L - Nov 19 vs (12) Oklahoma State
W - Nov 26 at Texas Tech

I wouldn't be surprised with if they lost somewhere else like a Kansas State, but I'd be shocked if they are worse than 8-4. Even if they are 8-4, or worse, something really went off the rails like losing their QB (Dillon Gabriel).

Thanks for the schedule breakdown. I was just wondering who in the B12 might challenge the Sooners.

Him and Tony Elliott won't survive year 4. It's a very tough business. I hope I'm wrong.

will be just fine.

1) He's got great support from the administration and they promised to give him everything he wanted/needed to make the program successful in his vision.
2) They are a blue blood program.
3) They have Jordan uniform/shoe deal.
4) It's a easier place to recruit to.
5) He passed the first test with his Offensive Coordinator.
6) He did a good job to fill immediate needs with last year's class.
7) He got a great class going for 2023 so far.
