bottom line: Tigers won. Matters not to me how we control the game or what plays was run by the Offense. Could care less if the OC did not like Dabo's decision. We won the game.

If Riley is truly in charge of the offense, shouldn't he be the one saying no?

Yes sir Judge. We have a HC making 11 million per year, an OC making over 2 million per year, and the Tigers are 8-4 in the ACC and not in the top 25. That's an issue. Glad to beat the Chickens. Great defense. Passing attach and particularly receiver and TE play is putrid. Injuries are part of it but all teams have injuries. Talent level at these skill positions is at it's lowest point in years. IF we had any scholarships that had not been frittered away we could have gotten a WR out of Portal in the off season or at a minimum worked 1 or 2 of our D backs into the rotation. Multiple WR's on scholarship that are not D1 level. And it bit us squarely on the aXX this season and last year as well.

yes. he's the head coach. ultimately, he's responsible for everything that deals with the football program. dabo would even tell you that. but, if you're gonna lay all the blame on him for the bad things, then you have to acknowledge that dabo is responsible for all the good things that have happened in the past 15 seasons, too. we're not alabama. no one is, but bama. it's not the end of the world if we're not in the playoffs every single season. or even if we go a few years... it's ok.
our offense has struggled, yes... but, the lack of production didn't cost us our losses, this season. turnovers did. and, we kinda cleaned that up and started creating turnovers on defense. and, when we did, even with a lack of offense, we started winning. so, why not take a coach that addressed issues in-season w/ turnovers and give him the chance to address issues out-of-season? if dabo thinks he needs to make changes, i promise he's got a plan to do so.
either way, i saw a team this year that had high hopes.... squashed early in the season. and, that same team turned it around and did what they needed to do to win out from 4-4. i mean.. who really thought at 4-4 with no hope in sight at not turning it over in crucial moments, we'd go 8-4? not that we couldn't.. just that we wouldn't (turnovers). but, we did.
you can stay mad at the offense but i saw a team that got better throught the season, regardless of what it looked like. and i'll wait and see what dabo does as far as positional coaches, which i agree need to change, imho.
either way, i'm gonna pull for my tigers, regardless.

Do you really not know how this works? Riley, Richardson and Dabo are on the headset. All together. If Dabo hears a pass call for the next play he can say no, let's run it. That's it. Geez o mighty

This was exactly the type of approach and game plan most of us were hoping for leading up to Saturday, including those whining since about Dabo largely shutting the air game down once we had a 2 score lead and not giving SCar any opportunities to seize momentum.

16-7 with 3 mins left leaves the other team a glimmer of hope. 23-7 and they might let 2nd teamers play it out. Insurance.

As the Highest paid OC in the country that will probably make Garrett question his employment. I know we were depleted at the WR position but still taking the game completely out of his control?

“Said no” implies that Dabo did just that - vetoed a call made by the OC. That’s not “taking the game completely out of his control”.
It’s the HC’s prerogative to override a call. I’m astonished that some are making a big deal of this.

Blame Brad or nah?
Hey, if you want to we a good and say Dabo is calling plays, then you better give him credit for 6 straight playoffs as the playcaller.
Now as far as Brad….. there’s nothing there for him to fall back on. Absolutely nothing but abject failures with occasional moments of mediocrity. Mostly failures though.
You can try to disingenuous best to drag Dabo down to Brads level, but it’s utterly ridiculous and absurd. Brad will never accomplish half of what Dabo already has, and Dabo has lots more in store.
Why do you even try to pawn off that disingenuous charade?

Yes, troll. A head coach is responsible for all facets of their program,
1

including when a player fails to make a play or perform well, like missing a late jumper or free throw to win or tie a game, or a late pick that gives an opponent a chance to get back into one. How a program performs is ultimately 100% on its head coach, and why they make the big bucks to deliver accordingly.

Coaching not to lose can be dangerous. The defense and special teams allowed Dabo to play it conservatively. Given the season of turnovers and losses can you blame him? Nine points was overcome last year with a weaker defense. I’ll take four wins to end the season and a bowl. Build on it for next year. We know that ‘2023 was less than expected cfp year and 10 to 12 wins.

Hey, if he said no to passing the ball and we came out with a win, then what's there to complain about? Had he not said no and Cade threw an interception or a bunch of incomplete passes that would extend the game then you all would be screaming "run the ball"
Be happy we finished the season 8-4. It could have been a whole lot worse.
I'm thankful we came out of Columbia with a win. Don't care what it looked like.

Some folks just want something to complain about ....there have been legit criticisms and concerns regarding this offense over the season but all the bitchin and moaning after this win over our rival is silly . But of course they are probably the same people who are posting "game over", "Dabo is an idiot", "we suck", "fire everyone" etc after our first offensive series of a game

WE did what we needed to in order to leave that dumpster fire with a win. Usuck is not a good team and a decent offense would have blown them out of Willy B. They spotted us 7 and we still let them hang in there.
Unless Trotter and Carter decide to stay another year, the offense and special teams have to get better or we will be lucky too get to 8-4 again. Best is the standard right? The stats below are abysmal.
Passing efficiency 88 (126.8), tackles for loss allowed 91 (6.3 PG), red zone TD percentage 95 (55.3*), blocked kicks allowed 103 (3), turnovers lost 105 (21), red zone offense 122 (.714), passing yards per completion 125 (9.9), field goal make percentage 126 (57.1*), fumbles lost 128 (13), kickoff return defense 130 (27.8 per).

Smart decision. They could do nothing against our defense, so we had enough points already. The only way we could lose the game would be with multiple self-inflicted wounds.

We're vanilla when we run the ball, we're vanilla when we pass the ball. Our scheme is like watching paint dry and it is predictable-- it's a big part of the reason we can't score in the red zone. Yes, we don't have playmakers like we used to, but we don't put the guys we do have in a position to be successful. Streeter wasn't good, but neither is Riley.

I for one am glad he said no. I was just as frustrated as everyone else with the lack of passing game, receivers dropping the ball, and the o line making Cade scramble for his life. But, I read the article about how sick a lot of the team members were and what it took to get them to be able to play. If running the ball was what we needed to do to win the game, which we did, then you all need to shut up because like someone else said, that's what people complained about last year that we didn't do. Beating Carolina is what we want every year regardless of how it comes. Protecting the ball and decreasing the chance of a screw up and giving them momentum is what he had in mind and it worked. Go Tigers!!!

We didn’t score a touchdown against a pathetic South Carolina team. Someone noted that Clemson hasn’t played a game without scoring a TD since 2014! We need a dominant quarterback, a skilled “commander,” to fix this.
Dabo said “no” because he has no faith in his quarterback.

If Riley really wanted to throw more that shows stubbornness , lack of game awareness, and unwillingness to play off your defense. 4 yards a pop is not exciting but wouldn’t have stuck us behind the chains as much as some of the dumb sideline passes and 2 yard hitches into a 3-3-5 defense.

progress past the "sandlot" style of game he was playing this year. Along with progress and no injuries and top dog receivers for next year it could be a big improvement. Pass protection, reading the defense and receivers getting separation will be paramount and will open up the running game more. Still think a change is in order for a new receivers coach.

Oline too. 3 years to develop then freshman talent, yet in the end, we had to play raw true freshman. We didn't miss on that many lineman.
Coots got pressure running odd fronts. They're a worse defense than ga tech. I'm stoked it was a phenomenal defensive attack but I'm not surprised. Think what our oline would look like if we'd have lost 8 lineman from the start of the season. Scar has a hs oline.

Was the offense exciting? Absolutely not. BUT hear me out.
Alabama ran it down people's throats for years, gaining 300-350 yards per game. Their defense was stifling.
I am not saying the team offensively or even defensively is as good as those teams from the early - mid 2000s from Tuscaloosa.
The game plan was pretty solid though. A few bad plays made the stats worse than what they should have been.
But for crying out loud, Weitz made three 40+ yard field goals and did so under the most irritating of circumstances (roosters crowing and the student section flashing beer bellies).
The team as a whole has improved exponentially. It's a start. The freshman have played like mad men.
I am not too proud to admit I was a critic and voiced my displeasure at 4-4. Very pleased with the turn-around, for whatever the reason.
Room to grow and improve but we have seen the desire and passion return to the staff and players alike.
Go Tigers - kick whoever's ### in the bowl game!

You can say whatever you want to say but if you’re in denial that our Offense just plain SUCKS…..then you have been drinking wayyy too much orange & purple Kool-Aid. Thank God for our Defense!!!! Our Offense is putrid….period!!!! It’s embarrassing and very hard to watch our ineptness as we try to move the ball down the field. It’s sooo predictable it’s just plumb ridiculous. Cade reminds me of a smaller version of DJ…..AND that ain’t GOOD!!!!!!!

We love you Coach DABO!!! We will ride with you until the end of time and believe in you as our Head Chief…. Thank you for getting our State Championship back and let’s get one more win to close out this year!!! I love our defense 🇺🇸 and I kinda like running the ball down hill on people rite now personally. It’s refreshing to see an old school WIN and couldn’t be prouder of our boys in Orange who love our school and go compete for us every day/every week!!!!

I guess I don't understand football as much as I thought I did. But if running an odd front is all it takes to shutdown a passing game, guess what - you don't have a passing game.
Happy for the Dub but remember when we made fun of SEC schools in the 'Chad years' about playing Old Man Ball? We're now an Old Man Ball team.
