If Syracuse wins the opening toss...

will they elect to receive?
"We always aim to start fast, and we expect to score,” said Shrader, who directed the Orange to a touchdown on the game’s opening possession against North Carolina State courtesy of a 12-yard scoring throw to wide receiver Oronde Gadsden II. “That’s why we always take the ball. What we need to work on is just keeping that momentum for the second and third drive and going down and scoring 21 points in the first quarter."

I hope our defense is ready to make some orange crush from the outset.

We will take the ball and we will score. It’s what we do. Unfortunately I don’t think we do much after that. 20-10 Clemson. But we’ll be up 3-0 after first drive!!

OK…so far, I’m counting 4 games-within-a-game, got it…

Clemson Goals:
1) Keep #34 under 60 yards. 2) Schrader sacked 4 times (1 per quarter) 3) Knock the ball out of #19 with a shoulder pad hit (don’t PI him or target him). 4) Don’t let them score on their opening drive.
What else am I missing?

My 4-games-within-the-game…

Sub-Game #1 - CHECK (54 yds) Sub-Game #2 - CHECK (5 sacks) Sub-Game #3 - HALF-A-CHECK (Mickens interception was good enough) Sub-Game #4 - CHECK
Having said all of that, I still have way too much soiled clothing from that win.

I will bet you 50 bucks Syracuse doesn't score a td on the opening drive. Paid via PayPal or Venmo. You in?

The only thing I want to hear about Syracuse is, how high will they pile up the snow in the Walmart parking lot come January.

Syracuse graduates are employed by most of the big press agencies/publications and in TV and radio broadcasting. You have to expect positive press for them is going to happen and prepare yourself.

The guy who wrote this article went to Georgetown.

Georgetown and Syracuse are big rivals from their Big East basketball days. They don’t like each other.
So while I get the premise of your post, I don’t think it applies here.

Their SOS ranks around 90th nationally...

per Sagarin. A lot of teams would still be unbeaten against that same schedule, particularly if five of the six games were played at home. Tomorrow will be their first real road test against a team with an actual pulse. Clemson by at least two TD's.

I watched them play NC State. Thought that the cuse looked pretty tough. I don't know that much about them, but I think they will be tough to knock out. Our Tigers have the advantage but don't expect SU just to roll over because they are playing Clemson.

You do know that NCSt played without the starting QB. The Backup came in before the first half was over in the FSU game and attempted 1 pass. IF not for FSU coach making one of the stupidest calls I've every seen when they were already in FG range FSU beats them as well. So I wouldn't count the NCSt game as a measuring stick on how bad or good The Grapefruits are.

Go back & watch NCS/FSU game

Air went out NCS team the minute their QB got hurt. Only reason FSU was THEIR coach.
NCS is NIGHT/DAY difference without their QB. NCS QB2 can't hit the the broadside of a barn.
