Money is almost never 50/50...

For some reason, the general public is under the very wrong misconception that lines are set to get equal amounts of money bet on both sides. This is almost never the case. Generally more money is bet on the favorite. Line's generally only move in response to injury info or money that is bet by "sharp" bettors, which are professional bettors who have a long-standing history of making successful wagers.
As an example, more money has been bet on the Patriots than on their opponent virtually every game they've played the last several seasons. Tomorrow night, probably 80% of the money will be bet on the patriots, and sportsbooks/casinos will have a very large rooting interest in the Dolphins.
Anyone who thinks lines are set to get even money on both sides is just simply wrong and doesn't understand how sportsbetting works and it drives me crazy that they spout it as fact, when it's most definitely not.

He is right. There are many sights that show the percentage of public money on games and rarely does it reach 80% on one side, it does happen frequently. I've bet for years on the short side of 75/25 % games (the 25% team) and more often than not, it's a winner.

Wonder why the casinos don't want to guarantee themselves the most amount of money?***

-Opened a -1.5 and is currently -2 for Bama. Which is showing 65% of wagers in are on Clemson, anymore points toward Bama would make the percentage for Clemson rise. It would take Clemon -3 to begin to even things out, imo.
