Yeah that makes zero sense to me. An ump can influence every pitch and outcome. I must be missing something or MLB is just showing how corrupt they really are.

No betting has been the cardinal rule since the black sox scandal. It is posted in every clubhpuse. You know it from the start. This is why Pete Rose will never be forgiven and this latest guy is out permanently. Not saying it's right but it isnt hidden in the fine print somewhere.

Point being: why was the ump not banned forever? Not even sure what the "discipline" was - just saw it on the ESPN runner but not fired apparently .

for life for betting on the game, but you only slap an Umpire on the wrist, who has the capability of affecting games far more than an individual player? Shame on you , baseball, shame on you. This sends a very bad message, and is a bad look no matter what anybody says.

accused him of betting on baseball. All I've seen is that he violated league gambling policies.
The details seem pretty important here. I don't know what the leagues gambling policy is. If he was betting on MLB games he should be banned.
