Bama & Oregon succeed despite opposite uniform policies.

It's the coaching, not the uniforms. Alabama & Oregon have two of the best (if not the best) coaches in college football. Unfortunately, Kelly has far out-performed Dabo despite comparable player-talent.
Bama has had stellar recruiting classes since Saban arrived. But interestingly, (according to Rivals' recruiting class rankings) Clemson has out-recruited Oregon in 3 of the last 5 years. Both teams have been pretty similar in recruiting rankings but Oregon has fared far better in the AP Poll and even played for a national title, despite playing in a tougher conference. Makes me wonder how good Clemson could be if TDP had hired a great coach like Kelly.
Rivals class rank: Clemson, Oregon 2012: #14, #16 2011: #8, #9 2010: #19, #13 2009: #32, #37 (Dabo & Kelly 1st year as HC.) 2008: #12, #19
AP Top 25 Final Poll: Clemson, Oregon 2012: #14, #2 (currently) 2011: #22, #4 2010: UNR, #3 2009: #24, #11 (Dabo & Kelly 1st year as HC.) 2008: UNR, #10

yes, definitely the coaching. of course. but look at the year preceding Dabo's and Kelly's first years. Oregon was ranked 10th, Clemson was unranked. Clemson has had marginally better recruiting classes [i'd argue nonsignificantly so], but Oregon was enjoying much better success from an institutional standpoint *when Kelly arrived*...

Prior success because Mike Bellotti was also a great coach.

High AP Poll rankings can lead to high recruting class rankings, which can lead to high AP Poll rankings. But in Oregon's case, their previously high poll rankings led to recruiting rankings that were similar to Clemson's. Yet Kelly was still was able to finish with much higher poll rankings (and stronger teams).

What are chances we get Boyd back next year? What about Nuk? Can we expect defense to improve by 5+ points next year? Will FSU lose again this year, not including the Gators? Do you expect Darth Visor to be in Columbia 3 years from now? Does Venables' family like it here? What about Morris' family? I think either could possibly be in line to replace Dabo in about 6 to 7 years. Don't think he will stay much beyond 10 years total as HC, too smart. If either will stick it out, could be next HC. Any talk of Brad Scott for AD?
