Surely DJU won't be the starter much longer at FSU right? Norvell doesn't have Dabo's capital reserve. Even here you can see the things being said about Dabo. I can imagine one more loss at FSU with DJU at QB and Norvell might be in the involuntary transfer portal.

Nothing against Bret but I hope FSU/ Norville sticks w DJ because they deserve a little karma for their gutless covid ploy a few years ago.

Why, we stuck with DJU until he (fortunately) went portal. Cade would have had yet another year to sit and watch from the sidelines.

Can you imagine if DJU comes to Clemson and isn't the starter? I would hate it for the young man, but Big Dave's tweets would be epic. And if Big Dave comes to the game, I hope they have a camera on him b/c he will get into fights in the stands.
Seriously though... DJU can sling it when he doesn't prefer the bounce pass and be careful what you wish for b/c we have seen what he can do vs ND in 2020.
I think more than likely if he is the starter when they come to DV, the pressure will choke him, but you never know. They have talent even though they haven't shown it well in their two games.

There was a reason Dabo would not pull DJU but we won't ever know. I'm guessing he made a promise to Big Dave. Norvell will yank him if they continue to lose. I'm guessing after game 4 or 5.

What more does Norvell need to know about DJU?

He has two years of Clemson evidence, one year of Oregon State evidence and two games of FSU experience. What does anyone think he's going to do at this point?

A big reason why Dabo stuck with DJU is the 14-game winning streak we had going with him as starter, the longest in the nation at the time midway through the 2022 season before his wheels came back off under the pressure of high expectations. Cade was not terribly impressive in his earlier season mop up duty - had to pull him after La Tech cut a 28-point lead to 14 with a full quarter to go. Fact is DJU led us to within one win of the 2022 Final Four.
It's really not rocket science why DJ stayed in at QB all season. And not rocket science when he was pulled vs UNC early for Cade.

I will give you the reason I heard. When DJs parents broke up, he was gutted. So much so that he wanted to transfer closer to home right away. Dabo and his parents set him down and convinced him to stay one more year and finish his degree and then transfer. You may not recall, but at some point that season when there was a question about whether he would stay or go after the season, Dabo said he and DJ had a plan that they were working through together. Because of all of this, I think this is why Dabo stuck with him through the regular season.
People acted so shocked and angry when DJ announced he was leaving before the bowl game but that was the deal he and Dabo had made. He also couldn't hang around through the January bowl game because he had to find another school, get registered for spring classes, and move.

And ND figured it out so the world knows that DJU is even worse against the blitz.

Seems your memory is failing you. Dabo replaced DJU in the ACCCG with Cade. Only after he was replaced did he decide to hit the portal. After the ACCCG game against an inept UNC D, we thought Cade should have been the starter the whole year. Then last year we saw why Cade was not the starter as DJ got us to the championship game which would have been unlikely under Cade.

Bye week. Norvell could decide to make massive changes. Or he could decide to continue with only minor tweaks.
My guess is he's gonna make changes including at QB. But that's only a guess.

Big Dave will go ballistic if Norvell benches DJU.

Didn't they fire Taggart when he had a massive buyout?

Taggart's buyout was $17 million, compared to $63 million for Norvell if they were to fire him right now. Norvell has also been much more successful. FSU has improved every year since he was hired, at least until this year.
