The look on their faces at 35-9 was beautiful but as they scored on our bench the fans got so obnoxious. 66-20 was beautiful wasn’t it‼️‼️

in the NC mountains where a lot of students are hippies who smoke pot.
Sports-wise, I think about them being a former SoCon team that has moved up and won a few big games in football.
I was surprised how easily we dominated them.

Sloppy play in all phases. But perhaps that's more a reflection of how *great* UGA is, and how *good* Clemson is, than anything else.
As for App being a "fairly crappy state school," I don't know.
I do know my wife's a pretty sharp human being who doesn't do drugs, and the App fans who sat behind us were pretty sharp human beings who didn't do drugs, and the Clemson fan three rows in front of us who got himself and his daughter kicked out of the game, was clearly on drugs.
Which indicates that maybe* every state (and private) school has its "fairly crappy" element.

With his orange and purple tights on underneath his cargo pants.
And he had that itchy/scratchy looking beard -- the sort that suggests he's carrying around a habit that prices him out of basic hygiene and upkeep.
Red-eyes and dilated pupils.
Twitchy, methy, chaos-in-a-skinsuit vibe.
And when the folks whose seats he was occupying showed up and politely asked him to adios himself and his daughter, he blew a gasket. Absolutely flipped his chit. And his poor kid - she couldn't have been more than nine or 10 - she's just begging him "Daddy please don't do this. Please."
And he's just railing on everyone. Turning the air blue. Finally the purple? shirts (green maybe) showed up and removed him and his daughter from the fracas.
Then everyone ate popcorn and watched App State implode.

Doing the “App State” cheer during our Alma mater in the pregame ceremony was classless. They got what they deserved. I was giving their fans around me #### all first half and all I was saying to them was App State, App State.

None of them have had their a$$ whipped once or twice. When I was at school, in the stadium at Athens or College Park - your head was on a swivel. There is a reason there were not any mirrors @ Byrd.

After I graduated from Clemson I went north for grad school. First job in Baltimore and I went to College Park 2x to watch my Tigers! You're 100% correct, that was a very hostile environment. I remember being on the 50 right behind our bench and the twerp crowd got so bad to Clemson fans and players the players actually turned and came close to coming into the stands to protect the fans. It was insane! So glad the 2x I was there we won!!

That happened to us one time but it was coot fans doing it! We sit in the North upper deck near visitor seating and these goobers were doing that as we walked to our seats. It’s shocking I know 🙄🙄

I had the same experience going into the stadium. Never had any dislike for app state before last night. Enjoyed watching them pile out early.

I agree with Pigeye that this is somewhat generational. We had a middle aged couple and their son, who plays in the App St band, parked next to us. We invited them to share in our tailgate and they were very cordial and were excited about attending their first game in Death Valley. They walked with us to Tiger Walk and stood with us as we watched Dabo pay respects to Dre Overton. They were very respectful and seemed like good people. The fans I saw once we were in the stadium were mostly quiet and appeared to be a little overwhelmed. They are probably just like most fan bases and there are good and bad in any group that size.

what they did during the alma mater and those near me were quiet the entire time. My stepdaughter was sitting away from me and texted to say the App. St. fans in front of her actually started cheering for Clemson.

They probably didn't even know it was the alma mater. That's for Clemson Alum and fans anyway. They really don't have to respect it. I'm sure some did - some did not. No big deal IMO. I've been a visitor at stadiums and have no clue what their alma mater is or sounds like or at what point it's played. Big deal over nothing IMO.

When I was walking in with my son, Clemson fans were cheering and excited. The app state fan behind me told his buddy, loudly, “Reality is gonna hit them in this game, they won’t be excited soon.”

Making a comment like we are going to show them to a buddy walking in is a whole different thing than disrespecting an opponent’s Alma mater! There is clean fun like teasing other fans, and then there is disgraceful disrespect like the obnoxious, classless people who did that. To me, that puts those punks in the same category as klappernick making his political statement by kneeling for our national anthem. It just shows money does not buy class. Unfortunately, all schools have classless fans! I for one, am ALL ORANGE! Go Tigers! Show them all!

I tailgated with several very good friends that went to App. All really good people. They shook their head at some of the younger fans so definitely a generational thing.
They also had some Clemson fans dropping F-Bombs on them in the upper deck which is unfortunate. I guarantee they said nothing.

We had a rather large App St contingent 2 spots down from us and they couldn't have been a nicer group. Gave a round of some truly nasty App St beer and we had some good football conversation before and after the game.

On the way in we witnessed a drunken app state fan wearing the prison overalls telling another one that they just needed to punch Clemson in the mouth on the first play. More humorous than obnoxious. We were in WEZ club where they were non-existent so didn't interact with them much, but they seemed pretty harmless. Opposing fans only bother me when we lose or are losing for the most part.

I always thought the Appy State students were there to ski and snowboard. The few times I have been up there it seemed like a mostly snobby bunch rather than the low-class moonshiners one would expect.

Sorry you ran into the a-holes of the crowd. Been going to sporting events for over 50 years now, fans will be fans. I've had fun in Athens, other times I thought we were gonna start duking it out right then and there. Seen a few obnoxious Clemson fans in my time as well. Moronic fans are everywhere.
My son is a grad from App St and worked the video crew while he was there. He's had things thrown at him at Louisiana and spit on at Marshall. He thought is was funny that the UL-Monroe fans waited for the buses to pull up to start yelling obscenities at them. They yelled at the video crew!
I can only hope that the Clemson faithful treated them a little more hospitable.
Boone is a great place and reminds me a lot of my time at Clemson.
