Masters Ticket Advice

Hey Everyone,

I am a huge sports fan and love going to events. I have never been to the masters. I know it is one of the hardest ticket in sports and you pretty much have to know someone to get a ticket. I have put my name in the masters lottery for the last several years and have never been awarded a ticket. Does anyone know if their are scalpers or any advice on securing 1 ticket even if it is just a practice round?

Thanks- Brad- Go Tigers!

You can definitely get tickets on secondary market

Use a trusted site like StubHub or Vivid seats.

I somehow got them the first year I applied

Random fact, my great uncle died while caddying on that course after he retired from the Air Force back in the early 90’s. My great aunt still lives a couple hundred yards from the course at 94 yrs old .

I know a guy who lives near Augusta. Good guy who is a retired postal carrier and the Masters as part of his route for many years. He buys and sells practice rounds and Masters tickets. I have sold him tickets before. I can send you his phone number. I guess you know they aren't cheap.

for sale. On Stubhub looks like a M/T practice round ticket is $1k, W $1.8k.

Not a huge golf fan but got an offer to go to the Sunday final round in 22 so I couldn’t turn it down. One of the coolest experiences of my life. Hoping I get that invite again one year soon.

I doubt you can still do this, but I went a couple of times in the 90s just by

standing out on Washington Ave on Sunday morning with a sign that said "Need Masters Badge". A friend & co-worker had all of these Master's badges pinned up in his cube, from the 70s on. I asked him how he always got to go, and he said you just show up early in the morning... dress nice, have a small sign, have cash, be patient, and turn down all of the ridiculous offers. So that's what we did. Some people would roll up and want $500. No thanks. It took 2 or 3 hours, but we both got badges for about $100. Not a bad deal for Sunday at Augusta.

He told me a few years later that it had become more difficult, and the sellers wanted you to mail the badges back, that they had to be able to produce them if asked. I'm sure now it's even more difficult with today's technology.

Only time I have ever been was to a practice round. Walked in the gates and was in awe. Went down 18 and here come John Daly (smoking a cigarette) and Fuzzy walking up the fairway. Believe it was John’s first year. Everyone knew he was a big hitter but that was about all anyone at that time really knew about him. Followed Jack and Arnie for a little while as well. A day I have never forgotten!
