Massive Update On 5* Quarterback Recruits

Welp, if it is possible the month of June just became an even bigger recruiting month.
The first weekend in June Clemson is set to host the #4 overall player for the class of 23' QB Malachi Nelson. Clemson has yet to offer Nelson, but I would say that it is a forgone conclusion that happens when he attends. The lack of an offer has not bothered Nelson, as he talks with DJ, Nelson is from Cali and the two are good friends, he understands how Clemson operates as they usually do not offer QBs until they see them throw in person.
That is not all; he plans on bringing some friends with him.
He will bring 4* class of 22' WR CJ Williams with him. Clemson has not offered Williams, so it will be interesting to see if that changes after the visit. ND and OSU lead in that recruitment along with Texas.
Nelson is also bringing his 5* WR teammate Makai Lemon. Nelson and Lemon plan on attending college together, and unlike a lot of recruits who say this I think that they actually will be a package deal. Nelson and Lemon both visited Clemson in the Fall for a game and enjoyed the trip, they went to Bama after and I think they plan to go their again this June.
A familiar name will be joining the two 5*. Matayo Uiagalelei, future 5* just a matter of time, should also be joining the Cali boys. I have already said that USC should be considered a serious threat here with his desire to be a musician. But I have heard if Big Dave gets any say we will be a tiger.
He said a few other people would be joining.
Also in the month of June Nelson and Lemon plan on attending Oklahoma for a visit to their barbecue cookout, hopefully Riley is not making the brisket. At this point they should be considered the lead team, but this has all the makings of turning into an OU and Clemson battle that will be decided by the visits this June. Nelson wants to commit early so that he can begin recruiting for his team. I see this as a Summer decision.
Worth noting that Nelson said USC was his leader a few weeks ago and he was close to committing, but they recently offered a quarterback after they told him they would not, and he said that he will now most likely not visit USC again after breaking his trust. LOL USC.
Another quarterback that Clemson is after is 5* Arch Manning. Manning also wants to camp at Clemson and I except an offer to go out then. Texas, Bama, LSU, Georgia, and Clemson are involved here. This would be a first commit first serve deal between Nelson and Manning. Also watch quarterback Dante Moore as another potential offer.
For a while I always thought that there was a greater chance that Manning ended up in the class over Nelson because I knew how good of a position USC was in with Nelson. Now I would say that Nelson holds that title, I know I said OU leads for Nelson as of now, but he really connects with the faith based program at Clemson, and I would never doubt Streeter and Dabo when they can get a QB on campus. This is going to be a war over the next few months.
Counter Intel: OSU just had their first decommitment. Dasan McCullough committed to Indiana to join his two brother and his father, who was hired earlier this year as a coach at Indiana. Worth noting because he, along with CJ Hicks, have been the lead recruiters for OSU this class. He has a great relationship with mutual DT target Caden Curry who is from Indiana, and I assume that he will recruit him hard. I considered OSU the leader for a while, have to see if that changes. Also has a great relationship with Nwankpa, #1 on Clemson's safety board, again I think OSU leads there as well, but Texas A&M is also making a strong push. Have to how this changes OSU's standing there as well.

I think it will be hard to get Manning. His SEC bloodline is strong.

Yeah I agree Manning will also be tough, but Clemson and Texas are two teams that are really involved not in the SEC. Being in state LSU is always there and I have heard some UGA buzz.

The Retreat is supposed to take place the weekend of June 12-13th.
I have heard some things on the cookout but I do not want to tell you false information, so I will wait until I hear a final decision.
-I can say that the Dabo Swinney Camp is going to happen. In past years there have been multiple three day camps. This year is sounds like there will be 6 one day camps with a morning and afternoon session. I have seen the potential dates, but again until it is set in stone do not want to mislead anyone, I can say that it appears they will be in the beginning of June. That camp would be for both class of 22' and 23' kids.

They generally do not offer prospects while they are sophomores, unless there is a special case like Avieon Terrell. For quarterbacks they generally have to see them throw in person before an offer.
-Class of 23' offers should go out starting in June once camps open up. Expect guys like Nelson, Manning, and Overton to get those offers then. Clemson does wait longer than most other teams.
