I’m not sure what everyone expected playing a night game in Tallahassee. I’m disappointed in the way we played in the 4th, but man this was a great win

Yes, FSU didn’t quit, and I’m not happy saying that Clemson didn’t match the effort late. Bad 4th quarter, but inside recovery saved the game without question

We were very lucky to win because our team quit playing after we scored the TD to start 3rd quarter. Florida State is not very good but they didn’t QUIT playing after they were down 34-14 in 3rd quarter. We did not play well on offense or defense tonight and no one should be happy with the way our team played tonight…..we won but what should have been a blow out turned into a one score game where we could have easily lost it at the end……unfrigging excusable for a Top 5 team!

FSU is a good team. Period. Hence why we should have played the entire game as if it was a one score game.
I keep saying this game is not over even when we were up 20.

Go find another team to pull for? The win is what matters. Dabo will coach the ream up. FSU still hasn't held yet or interfered either. Too bad the refs still couldn't cover even with their efforts.

Complaining about not finishing strong is not complaining about a win. It’s simply pointing out a concern that can cost us a win in a game with much higher stakes. We have the talent to be way more aggressive than what 4th and most of second half showed. And we were literally an onside kick from a loss when this game should’ve never been close after halftime

their last two drives and being outright upset with the win. We all want to finish stronger then that, but to be upset with a win and to automatically ASSume we lose if they get the onside kick, we'll that's a different discussion.

before the game started because I thought FSU was better than some people were giving them credit for.
But the way we shut things down from the middle of the 3rd quarter on was frustrating. We got the ball back up 34-14 with good field position (own 35) and went run, run, run, punt when we had scored on 6 straight possessions. Then on the next possession we are pinned deep and went for the play action (KO shot?) on 1st down which seemed like a weird time to call it. I think the previous drive was the one to stay aggressive and go for the throat.
Anyway, our final 3 drives (not counting the actual last drive that was 3 kneel downs) were 3 plays 3 yards punt, 3 plays 3 yards punt, 10 plays 34 yards punt. We attempted 2 passes in the final 1.5 quarters and completed zero. We didn't even try any of the safer short stuff to the TEs or Shipley in the flat that we had had some success with. It was mostly just vanilla runs up the middle with that one option play tossed in.
I just don't think this defense is quite good enough to stop playing offense midway through the 3rd quarter against a pretty good offense on the other side and try to sit on a lead like that. We have a solid defense, but it's not a shut down unit like we've had at times in the past. And honestly some of those defenses had trouble closing out games when we would shut our offense down and try to run out the clock.
