The way to fix court/field storming is to normalizing it in the way that Clemson has in football. Make it widely known to fans before the game and during the game that they will be allowed on the playing surface after a designated period of time that will allow players to exit.

The problem is most fans don’t wait for the countdown to end before they start jumping the wall. When I was a student I remember being in the middle of the field by the time the countdown ended.
If it could be enforced it’d be great.

Apologies for the TD. It was a slip because I agree. More chance in football that a fan gets injured because fb players have pads. It needs to be banned and the penalties need to be overwhelming.

the deal in DV after the games, some just choose to throw in a little shot to make it seem like we haven't been there before after a win

IMO,It needs to stop before there is a major incident. It's not the 1970's or 80's anymore. Folks have no boundaries anymore. Seeing SCAR and FSU fans going on our field in the last few years and celebrating should have been the last straw.
As far as jumping over the walls what happened to the rule when they came up with the corny "Gather at the Paw" slogan that you were supposed to wait a certain amount of time and go over to the hill area to go onto the field.

What some may not think about or realize is that someone can get trampled to death in those very same instances, it's the same as a stampede, but done by other humans, and it can be just as deadly as if it's being done by large animals stampeding, death or serious injury can be the same results...

We haven't normalized anything. We have rules we don't follow and fans basically do as they wish. Opposing players are quickly engulfed by the fans after the game and have to wade through them to get to the locker room, particularly those who on the field at the end of the game.
I'm not opposed to allowing the fans on the field after the game. I grew up doing it more years ago than I care to remember. But I think we should do a better job following our own rules, and should probably allow a reasonable amount of time for the other team to exit the field before allowing fans on. If it takes more security to do that, then so be it.

to flood the field to allow teams to get off the field? I think they should, as it is the only way this a sustainable practice. But I have never seen it done.

Seems like we have a lot of hypocrisy in the ranks here. Oh sure, “I was on the field before the countdown ended when I was a student” but we should have better rules and enforcement now.

The field and court and any area where the game is played is for players, not fans. Stay the h ell off unless you are a player. Simple enough? I think so. The place designated for fans is in the stands. Stay the h ell there.

You can stay there. But you probably never witnessed your dad taking you out there when you were a kid….and then having the same opportunity to do it with your kids one day.
Everything fun doesn’t have to be taken away because someone like you thinks it should.

You need to go back and look at film because there is no delay in kids running on the field after a big win in The Valley.
