Well based on your points, please go back and look at previous 10 years. See how Clemson surpassed preseason expectations of where they would finish in the ACC standings.
Besides the rockier start to the conference part of schedule, I see the season as trending up, aka a success via
Great start to season vs quality out of conf opponents
Quality wins many on the road
Projected to the NCAA tournament ( not on thc bubble)
And seven games left to play.

One self proclaimed CBS expert. Not experts as your referenced article states. The ACC ranked them 5th. Most preseasons had them ranked 5-7. They probably will be tied for 4th or a game and a half out of third. Very disappointing. The only disappointments are the Duke and GT losses. Aren’t you a naysayer?

With that said, no, I am not a naysayer. I don’t make excuses, and I defend our coach. A rare combination. A lot of replies I’ve gotten on this thread use words like “probably”, which indicates there is still time and hope for improvement, and there is. That’s fine, but that’s not what I posted. I said “so far”. My post is a progress report. The definition of “disappointment” shouldn’t be in question here, as anything outside of where you are projected to be ranked is disappointing, but that’s being debated too. And I’m not going to argue with you about CBS’ definition of ACC expert, take that up with them.
This thread clearly illustrates that some don’t get upset with the message, they get upset with the messenger. But if you only take one thing away from this thread, remember this, I have been called names; troll, lame, worst poster on the site, alcoholic, etc… but not once have I done that to any of those idiots.

So if an ACC expert predicted we would be the 4th best team in the league, and we are currently ranked outside of the top 4, that is a nonfulfillment of one’s hopes or expectations. The feeling of displeasure associative with those nonfulfillments is disappointment. I think any competitor feels that if they don’t meet expectations they are disappointed. Often times those disappointments drive the competitor to get better. I hope that is the case with our team.
And yes, I stand by my statement that people get mad at the messenger. There is nothing I posted that was against Clemson basketball or CBB. I pointed out an expert picked us as top 4, so far we’re not, and not being top 4 is disappointing. I also said I hope CBB continues to coach hard, silence the naysayers wrong and get us back to where the expert predicted, the top 4. I find it hard to believe anyone could argue with these points, so if someone does, it really means they are just trying to argue with me as a poster, not the facts of the post itself. But I am open to hear your points as well. That's what a forum is for. Please note, I have not TDd you for not agreeing with me.

Clemson has a long way to go. At the very least they need to go go 5-2 the rest of the way, with a 22-9 overall record, and 12-8 in the conference. They have to win the opening round of the ACC tourney too. If they run the table, I believe they're in automatically because that's 24-7 and 14-7 in the conference. BB still has to coach his ### off.
