Major issues I saw in this game

Jan 12, 2016, 12:47 AM

1. Special teams coverage- been a constant issue all season but reared its ugly head at the worst time
2. The injuries on defense were HUGE, especially Mack. If we have Mack, I think we win.
3. The inexplicable and consistent failure of our db's to turn around and attempt to locate the football on deep passes. Only saw baker do it on the attempted td pass coverage.
4. Mental errors- the blown coverages in the secondary and some poor blocking on a few occasions in the backfield.

The clock situation at the end of the half was crucial as well. Not sure how officials in the biggest game of the year don't notice clock running too early. That being said, I felt we were the better team outside of special teams, we just didn't make the clutch plays that you have to make to win a game like that. I fully expect us to be back next year, and this certainly won't be a season that I will ever forget.
