Beer is sold to the average fan at 22 of 120 major college football stadiums -- more than twice as many as a decade ago -- as schools search for new sources of revenue and, in some cases, counter intuitive ways to curb alcohol abuse.

In the past month, Akron and Minnesota gained approval to sell beer at football games this fall, with the Gophers becoming the first school in the Big Ten to tap the keg.

Last year, West Virginia earned a net profit of $520,000 in its first season of stadium-wide beer sales.

The state of Kentucky does allow alcohol in it's stadiums

... an alumni left a sizable contributions under the condition that the campus be dry. therefore, they don't allow alcohol in the university owned parking lots anymore.

i remember going to a UK-Clemson game when I was a freshman in high school when they allowed you to bring your own liquor in the stadium. they had stations set up near the concessions for mixing drinks.

I believe its by conference. The SEC and ACC do not allow it. The Big East does. Syracuse serves beer at their games. This may change when they join the ACC.
