Even though our offense was not its best I believe it was the defense that lead to our demise. We don’t have the dudes out there that we did but the defensive guys seem to be in the wrong place allowing big plays.

There aren't Dexter Lawrence, Christian Wilkins, Trenton Simpson level dudes out there, but in that front 7 you have Parker, Woods, and Carter who will play on Sundays and Woodaz, Page, and Capehart will all at least get a look from the NFL. They should be good enough to at least slow down their running game. They were getting bullied at the point of attack.

Yes. Coaching and players playing for coaches did not look good last Saturday night. I thought Eason and Rumph would be the ticket but maybe not

I agree with the majority of your post. But…I don’t think Carter will make a final NFL roster. We will see.

2 blocked field goals didn't help.***

Don't have the dudes out there....where have I heard that before? Let me think....

Our OL coach Matt Luke says hello 👋. He'd love to have 1/2 that amount of talent to work with. "Dudes" ain't the problem. The DL getting pushed around is 100% fixable because it has 0% to do with talent.

This place gets more and more bizarre after a loss.

Go Tigers.

The cut blocks gave us fits all night.
They said they had prepared for cut blocking but you could have fooled me.

We had 7 points on the board prior to garbage time.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Louisville is a good offensive team. I expected them to score some points but,

I didn't expect our offense to only have 7 points until 4th quarter garbage time.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The concerning part was really giving up 7.8

ypc. It's really tough to win games when you can't stop the run at all.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Let's hope a defensive solution can be found in the meantime.

Losing on November 30th would be really bad.

We don't have the guys on the defensive line

Woods, Capehart, and Parker are all good players, while Page and Williams are nice depth pieces. No one else has stepped up or proven they're ready, Green and Lawson have shown flashes, but neither are worthy of meaningful playing time yet.

And I would only put Woods in the good and not great/elite category because he primarily plays DE. He could be an elite DT, but we honestly don't have anyone else really capable of playing at DE, so he's forced outside. He's still a nice player at DE, but he doesn't have the speed to take over a game.

We need to add game-ready, quality defensive ends this offseason so we can move Woods back inside. Woods and Parker, in their best positions, could create a ton of havoc.

What we're putting out there now struggled to contain Stanford, who are proving to be one of the worst P4 teams in the country. This defensive line isn't scaring anyone, and their poor play is hampering the whole defensive unit.

Lol you think the defense is going to bad against the coots and Pitt?

Wait until you see the lack of points our offense puts up 🤣

The coots have one of the best D lines in the country. They are going to eat Garrett Riley for lunch

And once we fire Wes is the new Defensive coordinator going to be able to also draw up a game plan to score more than 7 points on a bad Louisville team after 3 1/2 quarters of play?

It always seems like we just have 9 guys on defense. Especially when it comes to defending against the run. Against Louisville the holes in the D were huge. There were guys misgaging where the runner would be and totally wiffing on tackles etc. The days where we swarmed the ball are just not there.

Look at the stats and you will see that we held Ville way below their yearly averages.
