Lot 13

Aug 24, 2014, 10:35 PM

Moved from Brooks center to Lot 13 this year. Hows the atmosphere and is it easy getting out after the game?

Biggest things

-Above all, learn how to get to HWY 76 (if you are going that way) via the West Point Stevens plant and spitting out further toward I-85 than Old Stone Church (if you drive by Old Stone Church, you're defeating the purpose of the alternate route).

-If it rains or has been raining, get there a little earlier than normal to find a good parking spot. Don't let the parking people direct you toward a soggy spot. The field drains slowly, but it's not as bad as the Fike lot or even lot 2. Sometimes Lot 13 DOES get a little dusty as we inch toward November. Park closer to the sides of the lot to reduce the dust on your tailgate.

-Doug Kingsmore has CLEAN restrooms. Use them instead of the big, expeditionary sh!tter (aka. porter john, fecal closet, reliever, crappy smelling time machine, plastic out-house, etc.).

-Don't try to circumvent traffic and drive up the grass hill when you are leaving. The car in front of you could very easily slide backwards for a frontal fender-bender.

-Cut through Doug Kingsmore when walking to the stadium. It's shorter and you don't have to walk up the hill. Also, it's a great time to poo poo, as noted above.

-Your kids, if you have any, will love it in Lot 13 because there's a lot more room for football, etc. Most people park there and tailgate elsewhere.

-If you have a satellite dish, don't park near the trees (obviously).

-The closer you park to the front of the fence (by the gate area), the more people that will stroll by your tailgate.

Enjoy!

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?
• Put up goal posts
What does a Gamecock grad call a Clemson Tiger grad in 2 years?

If you like cooking in the sun and lots of drunks you're all set.

I got moved there from Brooks three years ago, parked there once and then sold the rest of the passes. Brooks is much better.
