since Vietnam except when my father died 10 years ago. I was with my old hunting and fishing buddy when he got some of his "bucket list" taken care of - took him to a game at the Braves new stadium on a hot Clemson Day afternoon, to one last Clemson football game, and a final Clemson baseball game. Wish the whole list could have been completed.

So sorry. It's really tough this time of year too. Lost my Dad 4 years ago and all of a sudden woke up in the middle of the night last night missing him.

I have no idea how I managed to give you a TD, I saw it and thought who would give a TD on that post, it was my dumb tail. I really don’t have a clue how, forgive me soywaker I’ll make it up in TU’s.
It would be nice for us to be able to change a TD to a TU at all times just not the reverse of that.

Sorry for your loss, it’s really hard especially if it’s been since you were a kid. I lost my best friend in 2005, he was in a car accident, it was totally unexpected. It’s still tough for me his wreck was December 28 three days after Christmas.
If you have a close friendship, value it and say everything you need to say so you have no regrets.
I’ll see him in Heaven eventually, he took the early vacation.

losing one of my closest for over 50 years.
What helps to mitigate the losses is my appreciation for the opportunity I was given to have met and known such people, and to have called them my great friends.

My prayer for you and your friends family. I have lost 2 of my best friends since 2019. I didn't see one as much after I moved away from my hometown but the other I had stayed close friends with and we attended a lot of concerts together up to his passing. I think about him often when I hear a song by someone we had seen. The memories remind us of our friendships.

Clover, the wound will heal in time; however the scar will always be there. Enjoy the memories of good times you had together.
I lost two cousins who were life long friends, who were also brothers in a period of five months. I think, what weighs heavy on one during times like this is realizing that at our age we certainly do not have as much time left as we once had.

had faced some serious challenges in his life, and the world got to be too much for him. Even though I did what I could to help him, I will always wonder if I could have done something to prevent him taking his own life. As such things normally are, it was a complete shock to all, but those left behind still wonder.
In your case, it sounds like you were there for your friend in every way you could be. And, I am sure those bucket list items meant the world to him, as it sounds like you both knew his end was near.
Nobody wants to voice it, but this is a part of getting old that really sucks. And, it is a part that EVERYONE must go through, who has made it to advanced age. All we can do is enjoy those who we still have around us, and celebrate the ones who have gone before us. You will see your old fishing buddy again, I truly believe that with all my soul.
