What happened to cause the d@mn to break with losing so many kids off the team right now?

That they know there is no nucleus to return to. It’s also what made recruiting the portal easier. Come play with the 2 starters from an Elite 8 team is an easier pitch that come help me start from scratch. But I’m sure it’ll all be fine since Brad is a great coach that just needed 15 years to get his program in place.

They minimize the most recent seasons while using seasons from a decade ago to create this false narrative that we are mediocre and inconsistent.
Only the sub 100 IQ posters will fall for such ridiculous logic.

IN THE THREE MOST RECENT SEASONS and the Derp Squad keeps talking about how mediocre and inconsistent we are.
Last year was arguably our best season EVER in the history of our program.
We are 5-0 in our last 5 games against AP top 5 teams.
And they act like we can’t seem to find any success. Just LOL.

It’s a stupid thing to say when we didn’t make the tournament in 2923, didn’t deserve to make the tournament, and lost in embarrassing fashion in the NIT and during the regular season to the worst high major team in college basketball history. Multiple coaches have made three consecutive NCAA tournaments in far more competitive conference environments. He’d have a far greater argument for “best 2 seasons” but that doesn’t sound as good. JK knows this and is being a troll. Unfortunately his followers lack the nuance to understand when they’re being played.

Your ability to argue with data and facts is unparalleled.
Based on multiple metrics, most importantly wins, the last three seasons are the best three year stretch in program history. Yet here you are, challenging the numbers.
Brad is 5-0 in his last 5 games against AP top 5 opponents. Feel free to let me know when a Clemson basketball coach (or any Clemson coach in any sport) has done that.
We have many big wins over the last few seasons. We made an Elite 8, which was only done one other time in our history. This year, we were ranked in the top 10 at the end of the regular season, something we have never done in men’s basketball.
Your comebacks on this are falling short, but you know that, which is why you resorted to calling me a troll.

the best years in Clemson basketball history.
I wonder if the disconnect is rooted in that we're not clearly conveying that what's happened over in the football program under Dabo's leadership has so eclipsed what's happening in the basketball program under CBB's leadership, that most of us just aren't super impressed with it anymore.
Simply winning games and making tournaments, or even making a deep run in those tournaments, really falls flat. It's like being a Yankees fan and being asked to get excited about winning the AL East.
Just rings hollow.
Speaking of rings:

I'd say NCAAT games are much more important than games in January, or February, or any other time. How is that not evident?

why such the amount of transfers this year?
Do you think some come back, that they are just seeing if there is a new home or trying to find out if they can make more elsewhere? Or, is it merely an attempt to boost their NIL value?

Speculation at best. Sheer vindictiveness is probably more accurate.
Are you guys as critical of others at work and home as you are on TN?
What a miserable way to live.

There’s 4 starters on this team that ran out of eligibility. If they each had another year I’m confident Brownell would have retained them. We know JZ has said as much. The others are the typical attrition reasons you see all over college basketball. There’s a new nucleus forming from the RS freshmen and incoming freshmen that may become the next multi year foundation. I say let’s see how well Brownell can get the youth invested in Clemson.

The players that we retained in the past were good usually and we kept some bad ones around as well. Now we got rid of a bunch of scrubs outside of Del Jones and we are upgrading talent. Our old dudes left.

No We kept Schedf and Chase. Before that PJ and Hunter Tyson You could say we kept Dillon too
But that is about all. Brad has had to supplement and complement, as well as compliment, with transfers.
He has never recruited well consistently. And he has always had guys leave early to go to other schools.
This is weird though. Lose 10 players (more than half to portal). And guys leaving were going to have bigger roles.
We shall see.

When the fan base screams for Wiggins to be benched and they cry like a 4 yr old when he enters the portal.
Priceless
