Retention of Power and money are involved.
All the reasons FSU is allegedly not wanted by the SEC and the BIG were known 3-6 months ago after FSU filed its lawsuit against the ACC. THE allegations expressed on Monday claiming FSU was not wanted by SEC/BIG because the team was a "disruptor and a bully" were known at least 3 months ago after the Fl AG sued the ACC to make the ESPN/ ACC contract available as a public document as required by Florida's sunshine laws . The 4 Conference commissioners all wrote a letter to the Fl AG opposing the lawsuit against ACC/ESPN . That lawsuit was settled Today after the ACC agreed to turn over the requested contracts to the Fl AG who could make them public with the trade secrets being deleted.
Discovery by FSU begins in Leon County Court in the next phase of the trial.
With these two things taking place, it is not difficult to see why the hired guns for the ACC, BIG, and SEC just happened to start trashing the reputation of FSU this week. When fans get to see the hidden contracts they are going to sympathize with FSU/CLEMSON and agree that the ACC does not own the media rights if those teams are no longer a member of the ACC.
THE SEC/BIG now know that their media contracts with Any Florida team in their conference will now have to be made public and are going on the offense to prevent that by saying we don't want FSU but are using other reasons as to why. Unfortunately for the SEC, they already have a Florida team in the SEC. My guess is that to be consistent, the Fl AG will ask the SEC/ESPN to turn that contract over to the Fl AG for it to comply with Fl Sunshine laws to be made available to the public.
Clemson will be punished for suing the ACC.

I am not an attorney. I have learned to take everything I see on the internet for entertainment purposes only. There are a couple of lawyers who give an analysis I trust. (McKenzie, the guy from Raleigh-Durham who claims to be totally objective and unbiased is NOT one of them.)
I think folks are jumping the gun and speculating on what the lawsuit status means, and jumping to conclusions.
The case is far from settled. The four cases involving Clemson and FSU vs the ACC are still arguing over venue. Judges have ruled where the cases will be held and those rulings are being appealed.
As for the AG case in Florida, there was an agreement reached. Ashleigh Moody, AG, put out a statement that people - including Greg Flugar - read more into than was there.
The agreement, the way it was explained to me says that the ACC agrees to give the AG an unredacted copy of the contracts. That's all the agreement says.
People jumped to conclusions that because of FL government in the sunshine laws, those contracts will immediately be made available to the public. That is not true. There are exceptions to what documents must be made public. I'm no attorney, but trade secrets is one of those exceptions. ESPN and ACC can still argue over what parts of the contract are included in the exceptions and don't need to be made public.
It is still not clear, in spite of what some people are saying, whether or not the attorneys for FSU (and the FSU BOT) can see the unredacted copies and use all of the contract - including those parts that do not need to be made public - in their arguments.
It was a win for the AG. That is good news for FSU (and Clemson). But, the case is far from settled.

If you read the press release put out yesterday by AG Moody, it is clear that the contracts with trade secrets(which are going to be few or AG Moody would not have agreed) are going to be released to the public. The ACC knew the appellate judge was going to rule in favor of AG Moody. There are several major parties on the internet who have all reported that the contracts with trade secrets redacted will be made public. AG Moody and all lawyers involved in the law suit already had access to the contracts, so there was no need for AG Moidy to file a separate law suit just for her to see the contracts. She had already seen it.
Judge Cooper has already ruled that discovery by FSU CAN proceed.
Flugaur spent half an hour yesterday trying to figure out what AG Moody was saying in her press release regarding the ACC turning over the contracts for the public release in compliance with Fl Sunshine laws. It is very clear that the contracts will be made public. Why Flugaur had to get callers who call his show every day to tell him if it was going to be made public or not, and they did not arrive at the correct answer, tells me Flugsur doesn't know squat and can't even comprehend what he reads. He is a shill for the BIG. HIS regular callers don't know anything. They speculate. A couple of them insulted AG Moody which ticked me off because they did not like the fact that FSU won that lawsuit.
Clemson will get a favorable ruling on their summary judgement on their motion re. Them owning their rights when the are no longer a member of the ACC. NO JUDGE IN FL OR SC IS GOING TO RULE AGAINST THE TAXPAYERS OVER A LARGE OUT OF STATE CORPORATION.
THE SUIT MAY BE FAR FROM OVER, BUT settlement is not, in my opinion. And ESPN IS GOING TO WANT IT SETTLED BEFORE THEY HAVE TO MAKE THEIR SEC CONTRACTS PUBLIC IN FL. THAT'S WHAT IS DRIVING THIS WHOLE TRASHING OF FSU AND CLEMSON.

No coincidence and you are right with one exception. “Clemson will be punished” is an incorrect statement. Clemson is already being punished! The talking heads of the SEC/ESPN have already attacked our coach and our stadium, and are relentlessly bashing our team every chance they get! The ACC is already giving us crappy schedules, trying to change game date on Thanksgiving weekend, tried to sue us, publicly trashed us for questioning them, etc. I know I will get a lot of flack for this, but I do not see why anyone would want to go back to the sorry SEC. Money is important, but are you willing to sell our souls to these devils? We have already tried the “mighty SEC” once. It did not work well then, and it will not work now. Let’s face it people, we will never be a “darling” in the mighty ESPN/SEC conference. Besides, with their hatred of our team, coaches, and principles, who is to say they will give us a fair share of profits. Their contracts are locked up too! I for one, do not trust these sleeze bags any more than our current conference. FYI, yes Clemson does have principles! How many SEC/ESPN creeps can say that? ACC sucks, but so does SEC! Whatever the outcome, I will forever pull for our tigers! Go Tigers!

As you point out....WANTS this.
They are out there in cyberspace trying to influence.
There is a reason why we are suing them. They are NO FRIEND of Clemson University.

But aren't you the one that has given like 3 or 4 different dates and other information regarding Clemson announcing their departure only for absolutely none of it to come true?

Yes. My crystal ball was made in China, so that may explain it. I still think FSU/CLEMSON end up in the SEC. WHOLE LOT OF POSTURING BY THE POWER 2 CINFERENCES GOING ON NOW. LET CLEMSON\FSU GET FREE OF ACC AND IMHO, IT WILL HAPPEN QUICKLY.
AT least I don't have a you tube channel or write for a major sports publication or TV outlet like most of these yahoos who have no clue.
I don't think FSU and Clemson would be spending millions suing the ACC just to end up in the BIG 12. I TRUST NEFF AND THE BOT AND FSU LEADERS MORE THAN ANY YAHOO ON YOU TUBE.
Me, I just use common sense and trust the AD AND BOT AT CLEMSON. YOU NOTE THAT NO ONE EVER QUOTES ANY ONE AT CLEMSON IN ALL OF THIS. AND YOU BETTER BELIEVE CLEMSON LEADERS KNOW MORE THAN THE YAHOOS PISHING ALL THIS. AND THAT INCLUDES ME.
