I know whatever radio station told you this ignorance left out key details, so I'll offer some help from someone who reads:
Tesla's Q3 still fell short of profit. Part of the reason for the boost in sales was the federal tax credit on the vehicles. But they're still struggling to recover from the damage that Musk did to the company with he and Trump's corruption and leftist actions. On top of that, Tesla's stock is still down.
So I don't know what wing nut told you this information this morning, but consider digging a little deeper next time.

Teslas sales spiked last quarter because the $7,500 federal tax credit expired on 9/31 and people rushed to take advantage. I myself traded in my older model for a new Tesla last quarter. So while revenue was up last quarter the stock price is down 3% today on pessimism for the coming quarter.
PS I'm a Republican Tesla owner who also owns TSLA stock; so spare me your customary biased lib response.

For an EV, Americans still love Tesla. As they should...it's a great car. Consumer Reports rates it as the lowest cost to maintain over 5 and 10 years of ownership:

Elon Musk really got a bit crazy over the past year. I think even he knows it. It's a shame because I agree with a lot of what he believes...I just wish he had seen Trump for what he was, and certainly wish he had calmed down and shown the broader perspective I have seen him have the capacity to acknowledge in the past. It is crazy, because no one...NO ONE...in America should hate Tesla. I mean, if you don't want an electric car, that's cool. But no one has done more to make EVs an industry norm than Elon Musk. He makes a good car and he makes it in America, and they ain't a Prius.
Anyway, the stock price is, if I'm reading the chart correctly, at or near an all time high. I think they're fine...especially fine given the circus that there leader put on recently.
