Unfortunately there is a belief among many on the left that our country can be categorized as a system of oppressors and oppressed. They have adopted this most basic tenant of Marxism and fine tuned it into a race based ideology that is now prevalent in our politics, academia, and media.

Many on the left associate white people as society's "privileged" who they then take a step further and designate as oppressors. Likewise, people of color are deemed society's victims and are designated the oppressed. In order to prop up this race based strawman, they have established narratives to support their ideology among the academia and the media.

If the situation had been reversed in this incident (a group of white people beating a poor black man to death) it would have been mainstream, front page, prime time news for well over a week. That kind of incident fits the narrative held by many on the left and the mostly left biased media would have delivered it with a somber but hidden joy in their heart. There would have been marches and protests carried out by the professional race pimps whose very livelihood depend on gaining as much mileage from racial discord as possible. Politicians would have made speeches on the floor of Congress and in front of angry crowds to shame our racist society. They all would delight in using the incident as just another example of how the whole USA is an irredeemably racist country.

But... the situation being as it is with a group of black people beating a white man to death - it is of no use to the left's purveyors of race based politics. If forced to confront this incident, the race based Marxists will make up some narrative that this was a case of the oppressed people's rage finally reaching a tipping point and unfortunately, resulted in a death. They'll say violence is not the answer but at the same time they will excuse the violent behavior of the "oppressed people" as justifiable rage.

I'm not looking at this story, as some do, as an indictment of black people. It isn't. The behavior of these particular black people is certainly not representative of the black people I know and have been friends with for many years. Truthfully, I don't really see this story as being worthy of national news. Likewise - had the situation been reversed, I don't think it would have been worthy of national news either. But... that ain't the reality we live in so long as the race based Marxists and their friends control most of the societal bullhorns and have a narrative to push.

Well, I'm not a leftist...and it's obvious.

CNN does not ever identify black-on-white crime as black-on-white crime. When I first read about this story I had a sense pretty much instantly based on the deliberate vagueness of the report the guys who did it were black. CNN and MSNBC are overtly left-biased and won't go there. Black-on-white violence does not exist in their world...despite the fact that statistically it's a whole lot more prevalent than white-on-black violence.

Jump over to Fox, it's reversed. All they feature is Latino, Islamic, and mostly black people doing bad things. In the Foxverse, white-on-black racism doesn't exist either.

Both sides of the media - especially the cable news media - are peddling victimhood and the notion that it's you who is the Real Victim Here. Anger leads to engagement, engagement leads to eyeballs on screens, and that leads to advertisers...and that leads to profit. Cha-ching. So give people what they want to hear, even if it's basically bad candy.

And the people just eat it up, left and right alike. It's disheartening to watch.
