Do we really believe that his MAGA base has 401k's and investment portfolios? Do we really think they care that stock prices are plummeting? No. They don't have skin in the game. They are changing oil for $16 an hour and working paycheck to paycheck

Roughly 55% of Americans have retirement accounts and 22% have pension plans.
Somehow, I don’t think all of these folks were on the Kamala train. Lots of Trump voters have skin in the game.
Additionally there are a large number of people who voted for Trump who aren’t MAGA.
If the economy is in the toilet come the midterms, the GOP will pay the price and deservedly so.

The increased cost of goods plus the decrease in supply will hit them hard. Many will get laid off. So they'll feel it.
But the main reason I don't see a rout in 2026 is I STILL don't believe Trump and the Pubs are going to allow an election to happen.

The die-hard MAGA crowd could lose everything: Social Security, Medicaid in retirement, even their IRAs (if they’re lucky enough to have them)—and they still wouldn’t care, as long as they see fewer brown and gay people living freely.
And for what? What’s the actual end goal here? What does all this destruction serve, besides cruelty?
