remember it in the new year. Some posters on here defend their negative statements with: "I graduated from Clemson" or "I'm a Clemson alumni." I am happy that got their education at Clemson but as graduate or alumni that does not equal fan.
I know both-some who graduated from USuC but are Clemson fans and some who graduated from Clemson and are Coots.
Sorry, but graduated or alumni does not equal love for your school and it's sports team. So, remember the next time someone here posts a lot of negative crap on Clemson and defends it by saying their a graduate or alumni, but not by saying there a fan who loves the Clemson Tigers, to be suspicious of their loyalties.

there's a BIG difference that many "pumpers" fail to see before calling out/questioning one's allegiances to Clemson...........regardless of whether alumni or not.

So you as a true realist are going to be the judge as to who is a pessimist vs a realist. Ummm yeah, sure.
Never said all realist were pessimist and that is kinda my point.
Some “pumpers” are realists. Some pessimist are realist. IMO every pessimist claim to be realist because it helps them claim the self-aggrandized rebel image, that they view themselves as “speaking truth to power”. These pessimists who claim to be the true realists then label optimists as pumper because it’s derogatory and it helps further their mantra of being the only ones who can see the real truth.
Again in my opinion those who label folks as “pumpers” are just as extreme on the spectrum as those they mock

I know plenty the other way around and I know some who were Clemson fans, couldn’t get in and changed to USC out of bitterness. Not sure f you were just trying to be PC, but anyone with a CU degree but is a fan of USC (over Clemson) is a moron.

I had a guy who worked for me claim he was an Ohio State grad. I asked what he studied and he said 'general stuff.'
He was an OSU fan so you know the coots, being just as low...6th grade isn't an education in South Carolina.

What is the proper defense to immediately being called a "coot" then? I love my Alma Mater, I rock my ring and a Clemson hat whenever possible, even though Uncle Same hasn't allowed me to live in the Carolinas in years. I will say I love all Clemson fans, but I am willing to bet the vast majority on T-net never set foot in a Clemson classroom yet they are the first to call you a "coot." Creating posts critical of Clemson football doesn't make you a coot, and being blindly loyal with orange colored tinted glasses doesn't make you a better fan either.

Most posts on T-net that are critical of the direction of the football program are viewed negatively. I have no doubt many on the site post under the guise of being an alumni to lend their posts credibility and that's a shame. For those of us that donated 4 years of time and money it's especially frustrating. I think as an alumni you have more skin in the game. Clemson isn't just a team, it's not just Death Valley, it's not just orange and purple. It's 4 of the greatest years of your life. I think that's why I like to respond to many posters on tnet by using it as my response. In my mind it separates me from the fan who never set foot on campus before they went to Walmart and grabbed a shirt.

While it was fun most of the time, it was also da mn hard getting that sheepskin and walking across that stage after 4 hard az, years of busting my nads and grinning like a possum in corn when Dr. Edward's handed me that degree.
Now for most of you it may have been a walk in the park but not for me as I came totally unprepared from HS. SO, being a fan as an Alum means I paid my dues and if I want Clemson to be great and I don't support the decisions coaches make which keep us from being great, as a fan and alum. you gonna hear it.

There are plenty of rabid and devoted Clemson fans who are not alums.
With that said, let’s also not diminish the strong bond alums have with the school that is different than simply being a fan.

100% I agree with you Nike. We need an immediate change in coaches on defense. If Dabo doesn’t do this he’s not doing what’s in Clemson’s best interest right now.
I am a 1987 Clemson grad and have been attending games since the mid-70’s with my dad and a fun group of Clemson fans. We went to many away games and also bowl games. We went to EVERY game, home and away the year we won the national championship in 1981. Lots of great memories when I was a kid. My dad was a Wofford grad but you would never know it. I’m sure he donated some $$ to Wofford but much more to Clemson. A true Tiger fan through and through.

Believe me, Coach Swinney is well aware of our problems. He will improve our defense, whatever it takes.
We will be in the ACC until we can get out.
Constant criticism of our program on social media helps no one but our rivals.

Hmmmm ....thanks for the lesson. Here's one for you.
It's vs. its. One is a contraction of "it is" and the other shows possessive tense.
Their, there, and they're are very different. Possessive, a place/direction and finally a contraction for "they are".
This is not taught at CU. It's 4th grade stuff or at least it was in 1958. Maybe you cut 4th grade that day.
