If you want to get excited about the season ahead...go back and watch the Orange Bowl...
Obviously we lost..and you know that's the outcome...
The Spring Game was basically meaningless with all the personnel out...
Forget the score of the Orange Bowl..here's what you'll see a TON of great plays by our true freshman QB...and about 5 or 6 really bad plays....plays that likely cost us points - in a game that was a one score game in the 4th quarter...
Really bad plays which are correctable freshman mistakes...Mistakes I expect to see corrected by Coach Riley...Mistakes I expect Cade is well aware of and will work on correcting himself...The kid's a fighter and a winner...
You'll see Shipley and Mafah running hard and well...they'll be back this year to do that again...
You'll see alot of great plays by our defense...many of them by players that are back this year...and again some really bad mistakes by some freshman....for the most part we bottled up Tenn...but there were absolutely some busted plays that I'm sure our young secondary players would like back..
Get ready...the season is almost here....Most everybody has picked Clemson as an also-ran nationally and crowned FSU ACC champs.....I really like our odds when everybody counts Clemson out...Especially with the team we have coming back..

their QB, couple WR from each team including Hyatt among others. I mean I get your meaning but there is lots of room for improvement everywhere along with lots of room for excitement for this 2023 season.

it really came down to Red Zone execution - nothing that ever worked under Streeter or Elliott. Coach Riley will fix this immediately.

Clemson will be an improved team in 2023. Far to many real good players to not be a top five team all year. Need to keep the game winning players healthy. Especially the running backs and receivers. It’s been a very long time since I have seen Shipley 100%.
I feel like the new OC will make a big difference in the way our team moves the ball.
Leadership is important too!

Clemson finished alone at 6th, TCU finished tied for 36th.
What's interesting about this number is spread offenses notoriously have an issue inside the red zone, because the benefit is limited by the short field & end line. Space in spreads is everything. Also, it's more difficult to run when the defensive back end is so close to the LOS, not carrying the burden of giving up a long field.
That's why the QB is so important in the run game, most certainly in spreads where offensive lines don't belly up as a matter of course.
I hope Coach Riley moves Clemson's offense closer to it former explosive self.
