Clemson is indeed still a projected 5-seed for ESPN's Joe Lunardi, picked to face Samford in the first round out in Spokane, Washington. The ACC has four bids there with UNC (2), Duke (3), Clemson (5) and Virginia (9) in. Wake Forest is in the "first four out" and Pitt is in the "next four out."

I'm thinking 2-3 wins may be enough down the stretch to lock us in before the conference tourney.

Would love to see us go 4-2 or better. Here's to rebounding this week and hopefully picking up some momentum the rest of the way

The ACC in basketball is not a strong conference. UNC and Duke, Virginia are not the teams they used to be. Roy Williams left, and the Tar Heels under Hubert Davis don't evoke any fear in their opponents. Duke under Scheyer is not Coach K's Duke. Even Virginia under Bennett is quite weaker than before. It seems that anybody can beat anybody. Syracuse beat UNC at UNC. Would that have happened under Roy? I doubt it. Georgia Tech beat Clemson at Clemson, and they will probably have an overall losing record this year. A watered-down conference. This used to be one of the nation's best conferences years ago. There just needs to be a new line of very good coaches to come back to the ACC in basketball. The ACC would be doing good to get 4 teams in the NCAA tourney if they're lucky.
