OL John Simpson of Fort Dorchester did not make it to USC for Friday’s camp because of academic work he is taking to get ahead on his senior year. Simpson camped at Clemson for three days earlier in the week. He said he will visit USC sometime this summer. “I wouldn’t say they were upset that I wasn’t able to make it,” Simpson said of the Gamecock coaches. “I’m going to eventually be there for a visit.” Simpson does not have any other camp visits set at this point but he wants to get to Florida, LSU, Tennessee and Georgia. He does plan to return to Clemson for the All-In Cookout in July. Simpson has Clemson #1 on his list with Alabama second and Clemson third.

If CU can just move up to first and second on Simpson's list I'll be double happy.

The fact that Simpson didn't make his trip to Coot U. is not surprising . The simple reality that he stayed home to get ahead on his senior schoolwork is exactly why he isn't really interested in a school/program like the Dirtpeckers.
Schoolwork first ?
Kid is a Clemson lock.

I like our chances if we are 1st and 3rd. That means we only have to worry about #2. And when you get my age #2 becomes a very important part of your life.
