Kirby Smart To The Atlanta Falcons?

I'm reading a lot of speculation stories suggesting Arthur Blank might go after Kirby Smart to take over the Falcons.
Blank has the money to double what Smart is making and since Smart has taken UGa as high as he is capable of would it be a surprise if he if took a shot at the NFL?
Again, this is speculation but it would make our 2024 Season opener interesting if Smart wasn't the HC

Kirby is the best recruiter in CFB. He has a huge talent advantage in every game he coaches but only started to win big with the right coordinators. In the NFL he will not have that advantage.

I'd love to see him go but he makes $12MM a year according to USAToday. I'm not sure an owner pays much more than that for a coach unproven in the NFL.

If this was 5 years ago before NIl and The Portal I would say no way Smart even considers such an offer. Now that the College Game is evolving into an NFL model where you will have more parity and you literally have to re-recruit your own team each year I wouldn't be surprised if he takes a shot at the NFL if the money and control over the roster is right for him.

And simply making the playoffs as often as not makes it a long term gig.
Not saying Kirby will do it. But it would not necessarily be a “dumb decision” for Kirby to jump.

Falcons wil make an insane offer. Even if he flames out, he will collect $50 million at least.
He has two championships already. Guy is legend at UGA. College ball is now officially pro ball when it was only such behind closed doors previously.
If pro coaching doesn’t work out he chills out doing commentary, speaking circuit, or nothing, or gets another college gig. UGA would remove him back as coach again (though I think him taking that job would be dumb because can’t too previous work)

If I was a coach I'd rather spend 100% of my work time coaching ball vs 80% of it kissing 17 year old high school player's rears.
Give me the job with a commissioner, GM, salary cap, and contracts; vs whatever the hale is going on in CFB.

Would make it interesting if Kirby was gone but the Georgia team is loaded with the best talent top to bottom in the country. Coaches dont pkay , players do. This team is set up for success for the next coach. As long as the core of that staff remains and players don't jump into the transfer portal in the spring they will still be considered the best team in the country.

There are two ways of looking at it....
1. Why go? You have UGA rolling... on top. You have years of it continuing.. why mess this up?
2. Why stay? Youve won everything you can win on the college level. Won Natty's as an asst, won as a HC.
College game is going crazy.. AND he is still young enough that if the NFL doesnt work out, he would have his pick of college jobs should he decide to return.
So neither path would surprise me.
