Who is the best Safety of all time at Clemson?

For while they played at Clemson, no thier pro career.
I think #1 is set in stone.... Terry Kinard
#2 thru 5 is where it gets tricky, IMO.
I'd rank them:
1 Terry Kinard
2 Deandre McDanield
3 Robert Oneil
Jayron Kearse
5 Brian Dawkins or Robert Carswell(Flip of a coin)
I'm ranking Isaiah Simmons as a Linebacker or he'd be on the list.
I also am not sure where to put TJ Green or Dexter Davis, as I think they both played more Corner.

It will be interesting to see how Simmons does with his move to safety this upcoming season. All time I would go with Dawkins, because he is the best of all time if we use the NFL as well.

I agree with your list except I would put Jayron Kearse at #6 because of how he played against Bama in Natty.

Incidentally Makuba ain't no slouch. He's going to be lights out this year.

I agree with Terry Kinard at the #1 slot. There's a reason he's in the Ring of Honor.

He played multiple positions at CU, but, Charlie Waters should have consideration

He played on Offense for most of his Career. Also, Dawkins should be closer to the Top. I would not put Jayron Kearney in any top5. He was a Talented Player but took too many plays off — including a half Season in 2015!

I agree with you. Dawk is the best safety that has ever worn a Clemson jerset. Hands down the very best.

while at Clemson.
Dawkins is #1 hands down if you factor in pro career and McDaniels would not even be mentioned.
But in all honesty, while he was a really good player at Clemson, nobody at the time considered Dawkins to be a legend. There is a reason he wasn't picked till late second round.
So those saying is Dawkins #1 aren't remembering how he was remembered during his college career.

Deandre Mcdaniel was a beast for Clemson, but your talking like Dawkins was a slouch st Clemson because of his draft grade. His stats might of not been better then some but nobody played harder then him man gave it his all every play straight head hunter

I remember the game at South Carolina when he balled out. He was great.
But once again, I do not recall anybody suggesting he was one of the greatest Tigers ever or suggesting he'd end up a HOFmer in the NFL.
Conversely, McDaniels has been discussed as an all time Clemson great, especially while he was playing. I thought he was a sure fire NFL star and was shocked when he went undrafted.

I grew up a Giants fan and hit to watch Terry Kinard a lot. I would say him or Dawkins as our best. I also loved watching Simmons since he seemed to be everywhere.
