Keith Adams

Nov 16, 2015, 8:04 AM

Last Friday while on my way back to work from lunch, I was sitting in traffic on 285 in Atlanta. Nothing new to Atlantians. But suddenly out of the corner of my eye, I see some dude in a red camaro waving and shouting at me that Clemson is number. Given that I 100% agree with this statement, I decided to play along.
I roll the window down and it is none other than keith adams! He just wanted to celebrate with another Clemson fan. Keith was after my time and I didn't get to see that team play in person as I was serving in the military at the time but those Cats made many a deployment more enjoyable.
It is true that there is something in those hills that makes brothers of us all!

You should have asked him if he thought he is better than Ben Boulware to settle this argument.

JK! Cool random encounter. Keith was at Clemson while I was there and I loved watching that lil maniac. He could fly to a ball and NEVER missed a tackle. I think he had something like 145 my freshman year. Too lazy to take the time to Google the stats. Hah.

My KA story...that I got an ### chewing for...

Nov 16, 2015, 8:32 AM

While working sideline as a SCHP State Trooper in '90's, cant remember year in Willie B, I was so fired up by us beating their ### that I struck up a quick convo with KA and Robert Carswell where I told them to "knock a Chickens head off". A series or so later KA was on punt coverage and laid one out......he got helped off the field and KA ran off of field, saw me and said, "I GOT ONE SIR!!"...I yelled, high fived about three players, Including KA, and a Sgt came over and ripped me for the public display of emotion while on duty....about my 5th offense....see in '97 when Horne housed the punt and Edwards housed the INT I went nuts on sideline, and I had a few fist pumps at a few SCSU games too so supervisors pulled me after the KA game from working Tiger games or Bulldog games.....I went back in Marine Corps in '02 so they didnt have to worry about me getting fired up at SCSU or Tiger games anymore. Too much passion for those two schools in me, my alma mater SCSU and the team I have loved since '77 when I went to the ND game, my first CFB game, with my Pop and Uncle. Side note, KA was about an inch taller than me at 5' 8", and he was an absolute freight train.

I loved watching the Termite on the field.

MY KA Story..

Nov 16, 2015, 8:53 AM

In Atlanta a few years ago at this huge sports bar watching a Clemson game with my Clemson buddies. A guy approached us and asked if we knew the guy he was sitting with...Keith Adams. He said he was asking because KA told him that we SHOULD recognize who he is. I told the guy to tell Keith that I was coming over to get his autograph. I went over, and in front of hundreds of people, I yelled, "Oh my God! The best LB in Clemson history....(he was smiling proudly and he looked smuggly at his friend before I said)...LEVON KIRKLAND!!!! LOL!!!! Thankfully he had a sense of humor. He came over to our table later, we exchanged numbers, and have been kool ever since.
