Spurrier just said on his call in show that they got lucky

Sep 18, 2014, 7:11 PM

against UGA.

Said who would've thought one of the best kickers in the league would miss 2 easy FGs.

Said who would've thought on 1st and goal that they would pass and then QB have an intentional grounding.

Said it's funny how we used to be unlucky but now we're lucky in Williams Brice.

Then said, "We're still not a good football team, and maybe we can play better against Vandy."

It's just funny how he refuses to give them credit.

Better than proclaiming them "a national championship team" like Dabo would have.

Have to admit that's one thing I hate about Dabo. He yaps too much and pumps way too much sunshine. Everything is just great, excellent, he's always pleased.

No I just think he should tell it how it is instead of making excuses. That's our job as fans.

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

2 things ...

1. They did get lucky.
2. A shame how he discounts his team.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Keep them motivated to improve

Sep 18, 2014, 7:34 PM

They sure don't have laurels to rest on. The Defense has MILES
to go to be "good" and the QB is pick prone. RBs are getting hit
in the back field quite a bit and prone to injury.
Lucky....yep. Could easy be 0-3.
Everybody won't be as generous as UGA.
Lot of toss up games coming up. They better have a horseshoe
somewhere.
I think he has it right.

I actually appreciate his honesty as well***

Well Spurrier is right, i'm just glad he admits it. To have all the breaks and still hang on by 3. Long TD run called back on a weak holding call, the 2 miss fg's(one of which should have never been when you have that stable of back 1st and goal at the 4). They gave up 35 with 14-20 pts left on the table from GA. I mean a win is a win, but it wasn't a statement win by any means. I think that's what he's getting at.

he would be 100% correct in what he said.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's just crazy he admits it. Most coaches would accentuate

Sep 18, 2014, 8:02 PM

the positives. NO chance Dabo would say that... or 90% of coaches across America. Most coaches are just very positive people.

They did play pretty bad on defense.

What's really crazy

Sep 18, 2014, 10:36 PM

is key blown calls against ECU and UGA that turned the momentum of the game in Willy B.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

To clarify

Sep 18, 2014, 10:44 PM

ECU gets hit with a delay of game penalty after what looked like a fumble or an ECU stop. Instead they draw a delay of game penalty for staying in the pile too long and the defender coming up with the ball. Later in the game and Scar defender makes a play, runs half way down the field and tosses the ball away...no flag.

Georgia gets hit with an intentional grounding penalty on a deflected pass. Then they get hit with 2 bad spots in a row on the last drive.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and the phantom holding call to bring back a Gurley TD....

Sep 18, 2014, 11:05 PM

in the first half of their game against UGA.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They would be 0-3 right now without $EC refs***

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That luck comes from $EC refs cheating for them to keep more

Sep 18, 2014, 11:03 PM

$EC teams in the top 25.
