Sounds like there are some Southen Cal fans on the gate crew.

However, things didn't work out that way. "I missed my flight out here and didn't get to go. Ended up missing the flight by like a couple of minutes."
From what we heard, they saw the door to the plane closing while the group was on the run for the gate.

Let me tell you about LAX
Oct 22, 2018, 1:11 PM

I had a flight to Tokyo with a tight layover at LAX. I was traveling with 2 co-workers and because it was international we were all flying first class on the company's dime. The gate crew at LAX obviously knew we were inbound (key fact). When we landed, it took the crew at our arrival gate about 15 minutes to line up the breezeway to the door. Our departure gate was about 5 gates down. We show up right as they're closing the door. They refused to let us in (which is probably correct with FAA regulations and whatnot). That plane sat at the gate for 45 minutes before pulling out.
Here's the point: When the gate crews at LAX know they have passengers hustling to that gate, they will close the gate ON TIME no matter what. That impacts their 'on time departure' rating, even if the plane itself doesn't move from the gate for an hour.
Delta customer service ended up putting the 3 of us on the next flight to Honolulu and comped us ocean front rooms on Waikiki beach. We flew out to Tokyo the next morning. Also got some extra miles and a fruit basket.
If you have to travel to or through LAX, don't expect them to act intelligently. Expect them to close that door on time no matter what it actually costs them.

Just the fact that DJ was willing to go to the trouble to

... to try to catch a miserable cross country red eye flight just to be in Clemson tells me pretty much all I need to know about our chances for landing him.
He’ll be a Clemson Tiger ...

It was the busting his butt to catch a red eye that impresses me.
Just traveling to Auburn is something any recruit might do.
I’ve taken the red eye from LA to GSP and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

I was so glad to read that Clay Webb made it. I’d love to have all three of the guys, they are all special, but I especially hope Clay will be a Clemson Tiger.

Quavaris Crouch

"Clemson has been a successful team, they always are going to be successful," Crouch said. "I feel like they bring in good recruiting classes. I feel like that's the most stable program that I am getting recruited by, honestly, other than Alabama."
I'll give you that Bama seems always in the hunt for a natty but stable they are not. You just never know when the offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator will be selected to be the next HC at another school.

Might want to rephrase that - "Crouch doesn't talk to the
