I love Dabo. I want to see him succeed.
I also love Clemson football and want to see it excel.
I don’t have an issue with either.
What I do have an issue with is the outspoken group of you who seem to be so devoted to Dabo and Clemson football that you treat it like a religion, to the point that it is part of your identity and you take it personally if someone disagrees or has an opinion you don’t like.
I hope that helps clear up the ridiculous misconceptions here.

I read many negative posts here about Brad, most of which I don’t respond to. I don’t call people names for disagreeing. And I certainly don’t take it personally if people don’t see things my way.
When I do respond, I try to do so with facts and not emotion. The Dabo cult here should try it sometime when Dabo is questioned or criticized.
Sadly, if aomeone criticizes Dabo and they are an idiot, Moran, Coot, and/or jealous and are discredited.

Mainly for his lack of willingness to adapt and use the portal the way most other schools are. I've seen him criticized for being too loyal to players and not "encouraging them to transfer" the way many coaches do. I've seen him criticized for running a poor NIL program and losing recruits because he won't pay anywhere close to market value for true freshmen. I've seen him criticized for being too loyal to Daniel High and giving ships to guys who aren't worthy. I've seen him criticized for poor recruiting in general.
I've even seen it suggested on here that "the game has passed him by" and it is time for him to "seek a second career" outside of coaching.
I seem to recall in a couple of threads where I, a Nole, was one of his chief defenders.

Now’s not the time to hate on Brad. His program has been on the rise even with lesser talent. I think we need to show support instead of bash and I’m just as pissed about not winning in the tournament. I went to many games this year and supported enough to be upset, but I think Neff sees it and Dabo definitely wants bball to succeed so don’t be surprised if Neff throws a little more $ brads way and Dabo even helps meet these kids and recruits in a way. I’ve heard Brad introduces him as a sales pitch and he should. Football will be apart of their culture here if they attend. But we need some $ and some good transfers asap. The first one needs to be a home run to set the pace for others to join.

There are many negative post on here about Dabo as well. You can go back in the last two seasons and find plenty of post where people wanted to get rid of dabo. Plenty of people have also criticized him for his recruiting, not using the portal, and hiring assistance from inside the program. There's a ton of criticism for Dabo on this board.

I think he’s a really good coach and I admire the job he has done. I am also able to acknowledge his shortcomings and have no problem if people disagree.
It’s too bad you don’t allow yourself to see the difference between that and the people who lose their marbles when Paul Finebaum or anyone else sees Dabo differently than they do.

I am honest about my opinions of Brad, and don’t try to cover up my past feelings about Brad by clearing anything up
All the negative attacks, just center yourself to what you really feel about Dabo. And learn to keep giving him chances and credit when he comes through.
There’s never been a reason to be so dang critical, he tried some things. He’s a traditional style of coach, and he’s adapting and Clemson is evening out to what they were.

Recent examples include rallying the team in 2023 to finish the season strong, hiring Allen as DC, and using the transfer portal.
His decisions to repeatedly hire unqualified and underqualified coaches deserves plenty of criticism. It set our program back for sure. It was way worse than him “just trying some things.” Responding with “he has won two natties” doesn’t excuse such poor decisions.
Thankfully, he seems to have finally learned his lesson. It’s too bad our program had to suffer so much while he figured it out, but to his credit he seems to be adapting. He doesn’t deserve a medal for that, but some of you act like he does - even though that’s his job.

Your “compliments” of Dabo for using the transfer portal have been sarcastically staged with comments about how he learned to use the portal and NIL from Coach Brownell and, even in this post, that he had to “learn his lesson” before he would use the portal. You lack sincerity and everyone here sees it.

Clemson as a brand has been elevated under Dabo. Just like the SEC brands, we want the basketball program to start making progress. They did last year and the regular season of this year. We need to reevaluate Brad after next year to see if he can adjust to be one of the big boys or not.

No that’s not it at all. I have never, Never seen you criticize Brownell. I have seen you consistently criticize Dabo. Thats my problem. It’s okay if you were a fan of both but rightfully gave criticism to both when warranted. Clearly both coaches deserve criticism because neither are perfect and make plenty of mistakes.
If you have criticized Brownells coaching please go find it and post it. I’ll wait.

I’m equally critical of all coaches at Clemson. I get what you’re saying about the Dabo cultists. I got pushback as a fire Goodwin voice. I have ran into them my entire Clemson life. The first and worst was the Hatfield cultist. While I was very vocal about getting him fired and led as the fire Hatfield voices in boaster circles many called me “not a true Clemson fan if you don’t support Hatfield!” I also ran into the same in the fire Bowden push. And the fire Brownell pushes. I have been withholding any extra donations thanks to Brad. Just the Iptay minimum. Granted after the elite 8 run I did give a little extra. I’m waiting to see if that continues.

Just so we are clear. I am speaking for myself only. I support all Clemson sports programs and the people who are leading them. It is not my job to pick these leaders or to decide if they are doing their job properly. I am a fan and want to see the teams win. I view my job as a fan to support those out in these roles and the players they put in the court or field.
What I do have an issue with is your constant sniping at the football program and Dabo. You constantly whine that the basketball program doesn’t get the support that football does. You insinuate or flat out say that Dabo isn’t living up to the expectations that accompany his salary. You have said Dabo is stubborn and refuses to use the tools available to him. These are your opinions and while you are entitled to them you react very poorly to anyone who disagrees or who says similar things about Coach Brownell. You do call people names like cultist and you play semantics when you say people have ridiculous misconceptions or stupid opinions. You are very adept at wording things in a way that you can claim you didn’t say it because it is not an exact quote. But you do say it and then you claim that you didn’t. You create your own problems here and they are not misconceptions.

Of course there are outliers, yet feel the majority on here want what’s best for Clemson athletics. The vocal minority can screw the fan bases true reality and perception.

This is not treating "Dabo and Clemson football like a religion." It's just common sense. Dabo has won rings. Brownell has won games. (Well, usually.)

I am and always will be a CLEMSON Graduate First, a Tiger FB Fan Second..
and then probably a Clemson MBB Fan Third and Fourthly a Clemson Baseball Fan.
Saying, if Coach Brownell wins zero or 30+ games a season my life will go on and I would be disappointed or happy for him & his squad..
As it would equally be for FB but to be honest I would be very disappointed & a bit downtrodden if the football coach should go 0 out of 12 games and elated if he won 12+ games..
But understand I found the town of Clemson, the College, it’s campus AND the football team all in the same Fall day of 1958 and enrolled a year later..
Thus Clemson means Football to me!

I love Dabo. I want to see him succeed.
I also love Clemson football and want to see it excel.
Also actively worries a win will help Dabo and the program
I'd love to see us go on a deep playoff run, although my concern would be that Dabo would use it as "evidence" that what he's doing is working perfectly. If we have one really good year out of several (i.e., temporary success), how does that make us any better than teams that do the same thing using the transfer portal?
Tell us more about your love for Dabo, Football and the even praise and critique of both programs. Can't wait to see the post where you wonder what negative thing might happen if BBall won an important game
