Pfft, if they all go. We need options.

Wasn't Greg Swaim, one of the ones that said Clemson and FSU were a done deal to the Big12, about a decade ago?

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

If the ACC fell apart, why would the Big 12 just want those teams? No disrespect, but those are the teams you pick if UNC, UVA, Clemson, Miami, and FSU are off the table already.

Are they just assuming the SEC or BIG get dibs if the conference does "fall apart?"

Extremely sus all the way around, but that's the fun of talking season.

football insider"? Because, me, or any other swinging richard on the street could have written that story. There's nothing in it! You could write this clickbait story:

"Where will humanity go when the sun swallows the earth?"

You would probably get some clicks, only to find out that this event, IF it happens, does not occur for another 5 BILLION YEARS.

Similarly, as loads of high powered lawyers have looked at the GOR and found it, at least so far, to be unbreakable, no teams from the ACC are going anywhere, for THIRTEEN MORE YEARS, unless Musk, Gates, or Zuckerburg steps up to pay those buyouts and exit fees. Man, I would love to get paid to write stories where there is absolutely nothing at stake, because it is all supposition, and in this case, not even informed supposition. Heck, cutigerbob could have written it. It would have been shorter, anyway, if he had.

:(

Perhaps we can be consoled by the fact that...

while conference swapping has been a major topic during downtime for over a decade now, soon football will begin and all these clickbaiter will find other topics to use in baiting folks to respond.

He says Big 12 would get the leftovers.

His article talks about what would happen AFTER the SEC and B1G riad the ACC and get who they want.

Clemson and FSU will be the first to leave, not the last.

I agree and also believe 4 ACC teams to the Big 12 is viable as that would allow those added to save some travel expense by having at least three games locally - within travel parameters they already have.

No doubt about that. In the meanwhile, we can battle it out for who goes to the playoff. That is consoling to me.

academic standards. More likely Cuse would be invited before UL. Colorado? I just don't know enough about the school to judge but historically, only universities steeped in research were part of that conference.

I remember thinking the ACC sacrificed academic standards to allow UL entry.

It seems to me that the ACC focusing on football a little more, Miami, FSU, UNC and a couple of others from the pool of NCSU, WF, Louisville and Pitt - would be as good of a conference as any others. I'd much rather see a game in VA, NC, GA or FL than the midwest or the biggest redneck states in the union - MS, AL, LA and AR. Yes they fill 60k plus stadiums but you can't find a full set of teeth in the entire stadium.
