earlier. Like it or not, the Dabo theory of developing high school players might be great, but we have got to “roll with the punches,” “Suck it up,” “Admit we may have to make adjustments,” etc. On today’s Mickey Pyler show he and his assistant went position by position, both offense and defense, on what porital players we need to bring in. They came up with 16. They then looked back and saw that the current top teams in the nation have brought in an average of 16-17 the last several years. The theory is that if you bring in (for example an offensive tackle) it doesn’t mean the new guy is going to start, but the current player better prove why he shouldn’t.
