Just got back from the valley

Today was what I love about college football!

Arrived in Clemson at 7:00am and it was cold and foggy, but by kickoff it was perfect football weather. Not a cloud in the sky and there was an energy in the valley that I haven’t felt this year. There was good energy for Florida State, but the heat of the day seemed to drain the crowd at times.The fans were loud and proud from the start, and that isn’t always achieved especially in a game at noon. It reminded me of some of the games I attended back in the 80’s, not just the game, but the buildup to the game. The cooler morning air, the sites, sounds and the smell of all the tailgates that reminds me why I love college football.

We all know how this season has gone so far this season. Saying it has been frustrating would be an understatement. We have a talented team and if we play clean discipline football we can compete with any team in the nation, but if we play sloppy, we can lose any game on our schedule.

We played sloppy at times today and we continued to shoot ourself in the foot like in previous games, but in the earlier games when we had a boneheaded play it would snowball and we would go into a series of boneheaded plays. We had some boneheaded, sloppy plays today, but we were able to continue to fight on instead of letting the self inflicted wounds to continue hurting us.

I know i’m biased and Clemson is the only team I have ever pulled for, but I really enjoy the game today and the times I’ve enjoyed in the valley.

That would be Frank Howard Field at Clemson Memorial Stadium, known as "Death Valley", in Clemson S.C.😃
