Joy and Exuberance are what playing games are

Jan 1, 2022, 2:19 PM

about. All of these boys playing today and throughout bowl season have worked extremely hard all year. Some win, some lose. But they all should have a sense of accomplishment whether it’s in the CFP or in the pop tart bowl.

I help to coach a ball team of a very impressionable age, and in one of my practices, we work on our touchdown dance to make sure that we don’t forget to celebrate each and every accomplishment whether it’s getting your head on the right side of the runner or scoring an 80 yd pick-six.

I feel like some teams and fans aren’t finding the joy in playing in great bowls around the country if they aren’t in the CFP. Heck, OSU gave back some of their tickets to the Rose Bowl!

It’s easy to get caught up in the NIL, TP, and the recruit that got away, and let those not-so-fun thoughts throw a wet blanket on the shower of cheez-its.

I am excited for the possibilities of next year which definitely include another CFP visit. I’ll start working on my touchdown dance. I’ll let Bob or FM work on their body paint.

Happy New Year! Go Tigers!

I agree with celebrating. Put it in their mind that they can score so they don’t lose their mind if they do score. But I always told my kids to celebrate with their teammates. I told them if you think you can do it by yourself I will send you out there 1 on 11 and we’ll see how that works out for you. It’s the ultimate team sport and it’s a lot more joyful when you have other people to share it with.

I think Omicron hit bowl attendance hard

Ohio State fans are very stuck up and entitled, but even they love the Rose Bowl.

IMO, if it weren't for Omicron, they would have filled up the Rose Bowl. Their fan base is very crazy, very wealthy and loves to travel. I hadn't heard about them giving back tickets.
