That is reason #1 to stop paying welfare benefits to legal Americans of working age and limit their money making options to actually doing work.
Among the tens of millions of able bodied welfare bums or otherwise heavily subsidized parasites, many of them would find their way into the construction industry.
The only way for American industry to come to Jesus with respect to the illegal entry immigrants is to restart ‘negotiations’ from the ‘the border is closed’ frame of reference.
Clearly, with decades of B.S. but no actual progress on the matter of comprehensive immigration reform, there is simply no motivation among the big moneyed interests (and the politicians whose careers depend on donations from those big money guys) to address this issue. The current frame of reference is not conducive for accomplishing the long festering need for comprehensive immigration reform.

The hiring of illegal aliens by unscrupulous contractors is what ruined the construction industry. Those that played by the rules couldn't compete and shutdown. Their workers that lost their positions didn't want to go to work for the scumbag builders for less money, no benefits and more dangerous work sites.

All I'm saying is they're not a reputable source for "news." It's great for editorials if that's your thing, but all that article is doing is recycling what they read elsewhere. It's not news. It's regurgitation. Again, doesn't mean they're wrong. But withholding belief is warranted, given the source.
EDIT: And there is nothing inherently wrong with second-hand opinion on primary sources from other places, if you trust what is being filtered; that's how I get most of my news on Twitter. I don't trust "reporters" at Townhall.com. You may. I don't.

For example, he never addresses why parole programs are "legally dubious" or what he means by "aliens who cannot legally enter the country," and I suspect that's intentional because it makes it scarier sounding.
The family we adopted were a part of a parole program, and I'm not sure if they would be considered otherwise unable to "legally enter the country" if not for the parole program. So are these the type of people who are a part of what he's talking about? We don't know because that is unanswered.
Or are we simply mad over the number of people a part of this program? Are taxpayer paying for these flights, or did Customs just approve the travel?
Bensman may be right on facts, but there's no deeper context provided. As such, until context is provided, this registers about a 2 on my freak out meter.

Is it the volume of people involved in the program? Okay, fair enough.
Is it that we're flying them in? Fair enough well, but it would be nice to know more about why this program exists and for what purpose.
Is it that they're a greater danger than those coming across the border? That's not known from this "reporting."
Are taxpayers footing the bill for flights? That's not known either from this "reporting."
And it is really only the last two points I see being something that would work someone up any more than normal over illegal immigration.

works to reach this conclusion. I'm not infallible though. There's a 5% chance they could all be paid for by the immigrants themselves. I'd take just about any bet you would be willing to offer though if your wager is that taxpayer money is not involved in the air transport for them to get here.
There's a 0% chance taxpayer funding is not involved overall, as we've already financed the untold millions I'm sure it cost to procure the "CBP Go" app and staff the program.

Probability says you likely are. But even for the Biden administration, paying to bring illegal immigrants into the country on flights seems...a stretch. Maybe they justify it under a parole program, but that's not my personal experience with the parole program.
In either case, there isn't much that gets me worked up any more with the disfunction of our government, and conjecture over a program, as opposed to facts of a program, certainly doesn't make the needle move for me.

It's at least somewhat believable to say "they don't KNOW what kind of risk some of these people may be", but if you're saying that government agencies actually know that a foreigner is a risk and they're flying them in anyway, that's...highly doubtful. It's probably protocol that they don't release lists of immigrant flight logs, and that can sound as nefarious as you want it to depending on the context.

This whole time this entire thread full of bickering and ranting was all about an actually not-secret program where vetted people with passports buy their own plane tickets and are reunited with their families, and nobody realized this until one poster came along and actually read the article? Have I gotten the gist of this correctly?
I think one flavor of media has gotten a little carried away with their presentation of immigration issues, the boomers are all deathly afraid of some sort of armed uprising of “military aged” Guatemalans.
Also, it makes me sad to see what’s become of Elon Musk. I’m still not convinced this isn’t all still an elaborate troll to drum up twitter traffic.

It still represents a massive overuse of the Parole program, seeing it jump from something like 30k people a year in 2021 (going off top of my head here, numbers may not be exact), to 30k people a month, all from an executive action. That seems to be the real story still.
Some back and forth on the program too from what I can tell. Uniting for Ukraine, you had to have a domestic sponsor before being approved to come, and the sponsor had to go through a background check to confirm financial support ability. It took about two-months with the backlog.
I'm curious if the remote app comes in once you're approved.
But that's why I'm not spiking the football here. There was plenty of reason to suspect it was they way it sounded like it was, and it may be to some degree. It's still unclear, and Bensman doesn't strike me as the guy to unravel it all -- so it was, and is, wait and see. The asylum program is widely abused because it is far too broad, so it doesn't exactly give a ton of confidence in the parole programs, but my personal experience says there was vetting on both the parolee and the financial sponsor.
