Here's hoping we have a lot more success than old Elmer Fudd today!
Clemson 77, Baylor 74.

Baylor is going to be a tough out. I'm feeling a little iffy about this game.

I felt good about the game against UNM (not confident but good) but this game will be a close one IMO as the teams seem to be very similar.
FWiW the winner gets Arizona. I watched their game yesterday and they are the real deal in terms of being an elite college team.

I’m with you MyFO.
People said drawing NM in the first round was a tough draw. I really didn’t think so, but have learned you never dismiss any future opponent - not to mention what the superstitious part of me also thought.
However, in my opinion (and confessing doing the prohibited ‘look ahead’), seeing that our potential path to a final four was through Baylor, Arizona and NC, our Tigers have their work cut out for them!
I’m also hopeful the solid performance against NM restored the early season confidence and ‘mojo’ the guys will need to go deep!
And hey! We posted a very solid win over NM even though PJ had a subpar game!
(as always with my Tigers) I GOTTA BELIEVE!!! GO TIGERS!!!!!!

A good team wins even when one of their best players has an off game

So that makes me optimistic and also frustrated at times. We got the talent, we have many guys that can score. It’s when several decide to have off games at once is when it’s tequila shots time.
I think they all realize that now, maybe our team is just “slow” in picking up concepts ? Not many engineering majors on the team ?

Yea. Really want to see this season continue. We know what this team can do. They can play lights out and they can lay a huge egg. We have seen both this year. Really hope they are lights out in Memphis tonight!
Go Tigers!

Good shape. It’s tough to beat a good team when one or both of them struggle. Go Tigers!

Agreed. Joe has to shoot better than the 2-12 vs NM. And he scares me when he has the ball against the press. If Joe gets hot and Chase plays as well as he did Friday, I like our chances.

Joe Girard should never, ever be a primary, or even secondary ball handler in

our offense. His ability is "catch and shoot". He gets in sirius trouble when he dribbles the ball, especially when he tries to take it inside. He either gets bailed out by a foul (sometimes), or loses the ball or has his shot blocked (MOST times).
A prime example of his inability as a ball handler was in the last game, when pressure forced him to forget where he was, and he dribbled it over the center line for an "over and back" turnover. He was even disgusted with his own self over that one.

We will need our A-game to beat Baylor. If we get past them, we get Arizona, who I would classify as "elite"--certainly one of the best 5 teams in the tournament.
Here's hoping we do, it would be a monumental achievement.
