Jeadyn Lukus, Daylen Everette, and Travis Shaw Notes

For months Clemson has zoned in on three targets to fill the allotted spots for CB this cycle, those being Torinao Pride, Jeadyn Lukus, and Daylen Everette. Clemson has already secured a commitment from Pride following his visit for the Elite Retreat, and both Lukus and Everette are each heading for decisions in the next few weeks.
-UNC was a legitmate threat for Lukus for quite some time, and I am not sure they did not lead after their visit. However, Clemson gained momentum again after their visit and have yet to relinquish it. I think that Clemson has began to feel more confident, much more confident, while UNC has lost some of their confidence from earlier in June, I believe a decision has been made but will made public in late July.
-Everette is the opposite. If a decision has been made, none of the teams involved have been notified of the decision. Furthermore, he remains in communication with all the teams involved. I said that I thought UNC and Clemson were the two lead teams while UGA was the wildcard last week. To reinforce that it is believed that UNC only views Clemson as a real threat, and as a result have targeted Clemson repeatedly in the past few weeks. This one is still too close to call, but I said last week that I thought there was no team that I would rather be than Clemson, and I think UNC's tactic to target Clemson at least shows that they are not overly confident. Again, still too close to call between the two teams; however, I will let y'all know if I hear anything different as we get closer to Saturday.
-Not a lot new on Travis Shaw, he has not made any visit plans for July public yet. However, I did want to say that I think Shaw may take his recruitment into the Fall, potentially to NSD, and I think that helps Clemson's chances.
-Have a great week Tigernation!!!

I do not know but I guess the Power of The Paw is too much for some, if you will indulge me to use a pun this morning.

I am unaware of that situation with Everette. I wonder if you are mistaking the names and the rumor is about Lukus. If that is the case, yes UNC tried/did court Lukus' trainer. He even went to the UNC official visit as well, for further evidence he also trains recent UNC commit Caldwell.

Can you be more specific about UNC "targeting" Clemson?

"UNC only views Clemson as a real threat, and as a result have targeted Clemson repeatedly in the past few weeks. "
Not sure exactly how UNC would "target Clemson". Are you saying they are disparaging us?

I will answer both questions here: targeting, in this case, merely means that they are simply trying to our recruit Clemson, not UGA anymore if that makes sense.
-I do not think they are trashing Clemson or anything like that if that was the read you got from it, they are not UGA in that respect. UGA actually tried that here against UNC, but UNC has not really done that to Clemson here.
-Sorry if that line was kind of misleading in that respect.

Do you know how UGA "trashes" us? Has anyone ever given you a hint of the things they say on the recruiting trail?

Well like I said they are not doing here to Clemson, they are actually doing it to UNC in this case.
-However, I think it changes on a case by case instance, a repeat issue is depth that UGA brings up. Now you can argue the merit but that is one issue.
-Then you also have case specific examples. Not saying it was the reason he left but UGA let Jalon Walker know that Coach V's kids played and that could hurt his playing time. Not the main reason he went their but an example.
-They pitched some comments that Dabo made last Summer with regard to race to Nyland Greene as well. Again not the sole reason he left, but an example of negative recruiting.

Pretty common I would think. That's somewhat mild negative recruiting.

I believe they’ve trashed our OL development for years now and have highlighted our lack of Sunday players at that position, which may have hurt us in the recruitments of Salyer, Mays, and Hill, among others. Although I think there were other factors ($) in play for a couple of those guys, too.

Thanks for the awesome update as usual.
- Said it before, but what is Mack Brown selling? No major football history. He's old. I get Dre Bly is there, but we have CJ Spiller. So?
- Regarding Venables kids playing...it's just like teams complaining about opponents running up the score or complaining about Alabama or Clemson winning every year. You don't like it? Stop 'em! You're afraid of losing playing time to a coaches son? Outwork them and make it so the coaches have no choice but to play you.
Geez.
