Sad day.

"Time Out" is one of the seminal jazz recordings. Period.

I was lucky enough to see him about 12 years ago - he couldn't play the full show then. He'd play a tune or two and then let the band have a couple. Immense stage presence - all smiles & jokes. He is missed.

At USC Upstate in Spartanburg about 10 years ago. Really amazing.

"Take 5" is etched in stone as a classic.
