I've held a somewhat sympathetic attitude about the Mountaineers

going back to the vast expansion of the ACC, for I believe they were grossly snubbed when they weren't offered a membership.
We added their long time rival, Pitt, then invited VT (after an ultimatum from the Virginia Governor,) then reached out to BC and Syracuse.
When Maryland left, what did the ACC do? Rush to invite Louisville (no disrespect meant to the great Card fans.) That left WVU having to seek memberahip in the Big 12, for God's sake, meaning constant long distance travel for sports' competition. The whole matter to me was gross affrontery by the ACC with an elitist, snobbish, unforgiveable attitude that the West Virginians did not deserve. Further, I am sure that attitude originated right up in Greensboro, fostered and abetted in Chapel Hill and Durham. That Clemson did not read the riot act publicly to the ACC in defense of WVU was sorely misguided, especially considering our own history within the conference.
The West Virginians are good people with a long history of struggle for survival. For most of their lives they have stood alone, trying to participate and contribute, trying to belong. That their neighbors, i.e. the ACC schools, would turn their backs on them is describeable as demeaning at best, despicable at worst, and I've made no secret that I use the latter adjective.

Completely leaving that orange bowl out of the fray I don't dislike them. Like I cheer for them to beat pitt when they play.

Reminds you of their 2007 football team

1. #2 ranked WVU played 4-7 Pitt the last game of the regular season with a BCS title game berth on the line.
2. WVU loses to Pitt 13-7.
3. WVU instead plays Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.
4. Rich Rod leaves WVU for Michigan after the season.
5. WVU rehires Rich Rod 17 years later.
Which also reminds you of 1984 SC Gamecoot football
1. #2 SC (9-0) played 3-6 Navy with a possible national title game on the line.
2. SC loses to Navy 38-21.
3. SC instead plays and loses to Oklahoma State in the Gator Bowl.

WVU has the worst fans in the country. Best thing that could've happen is NOT to invite them to join the ACC. Their caliber of academic acceptance is a joke. Anyone that applies gets accepted.

At least WVU is taking action for being wronged. Yes, UNC is on a hot streak, but the entire season must count more. Some teams in the tournament shouldn't even qualify for the NIT. I'm looking at you, SEC. Records MUST matter. If they don't why even play? All that is going on now is power play with pure manipulation by sources that should have no control over colleges.
