Sure, the WR's cant get open, and the OL can't block anybody. But imo, it is a top down issue manifesting on the field, rather than those units being the fault. The question that is never, ever, asked in an interview with Dabo is, "For 5 years Clemson players have performed significantly under their talent expectations. Clemson can no longer beat a 4-3 team in spite of objectively higher talent (unless you want to dispute that). Is that a fault of the players or the head coach?" The answer is one or the other. No one makes him answer it.

Yes, I think we need new WR and OL coaches. But ever since Dabo said that the team that got its face rubbed in dirt by OSU was his favorite team ever, we have been soft. That is on him, not the assit coaches, imo.

I'm wondering about that, too. I like the home white for them.

But we know GT did what we can't. Twice. Think about that.

LSU wears purple at home sometimes too

but LSU and GT's PRIMARY home jersey is white.

{i]How often does LSU wear purple jerseys?
LSU only wears white jerseys for the home opener and for home games against SEC opponents. For non-SEC home games other than the home opener, LSU wears purple jerseys at home.

Like the Dallas Cowboys. They wear white at home also. ALMOST always. But not every game, once in awhile they will wear blue.

We are soft and it's not just the Head Coach...

IMO there is a huge hole in our culture that Brent Venables used to fill. Nowhere in our top 3 coaching leaders is that tough guy that eats nails that brings an outwardly focused intensity, confidence and "nut cuttin'" hard nosed edge to the culture. We have no cultural leader that looks like he is ready to put on pads himself and gives the players a look that says - "I'm going to bust your chops if you don't pay attention and get after it".

I think it's clear that Venables was the guy that brought the intensity to our program (not just the defense) that gave balance to the softer "rah rah we are champions in life" approach. Simply put - when Venables left so did our cultures bravado, intensity and it's toughness.

Dabo is outwardly not that "intense" guy and that is OK. But every Yin needs a Yang and right now Dabo is missing his alter-ego to give balance to our program's culture. Instead Dabo has filled the coaching staff with mostly "mini-me's" (a lot of inexperienced coaching mini-me's at that) that seem to be clones of his gentile personality.

Getting some older experienced assistants with no prior affiliation to Clemson would be a good start but at some point we need someone at the top levels of the program to bring a focused toughness and intensity balance back into the entire program.
